Lapse in recent memory

Posted by naturalblondeone @naturalblondeone, Apr 30, 2023

I have had long Covid since October 2022. So last night I was watching a TV series episode that I thought was a new episode. About half way into the episode I started getting feelings of “ remembering that scene”. Long story short it turns out I had watched the episode less than a week ago. I completely forgot watching it, and the first half of the episode, which was about an hour long I had no memory of, the second part, bits and pieces I remember. I am very scared now. It was like I blacked out that whole half hour or so and it was less than a week ago. This is a new symptom on top of my many other symptoms. Anyone else have similar issues?

That has been happening to me off and on too. Frustrating.

This has happened to me many times since covid. Co Q10 was suggested to be by a Doc. It helps. I take it 2x/day.

It IS scary. But. It is not permanent. I got Covid in 3/20 and have had times when I genuinely cannot remember any interaction or conversation. As my flare lessens, my memory improves. I’m so sorry this has happened. My brain fog can be fairly profound (but I aced the cognitive test at my LH clinic. Grrr!! These tests that show all is perfect!). Please report back if/when you feel it’s improving. It will be encouraging.

Can I ask what dosage of Co Q10 you take?

Hi naturalblondeone. Hang in there! Many of us have been referred to Speech Therapy for cognitive/memory issues and yes the frustrating “you are ok” when we experienced as you share. The items they suggest such as daily crossword, sudoku , word search, puzzle . .
as tolerated such as just couple of minutes and build up minute a week. I have found over the last 6 months I can now enter room and recall at least something instead of nothing and seems some words/thoughts/memories are coming back so progress😄 healing to all🌈

Thank you. Do you find it reduces fatigue/post-exertional malaise as well?

No only for blackouts.. I'm using LDN, Medicore (vitamin mineral complex,) and hydrogen water (I have a machine.)

My biggest concern is conversations I have with my husband. We will figure out the night before what we want for supper and many times i honestly can’t even remember those conversations. We have done this for 30 years and since Covid this has become a major frustration.
