I am on the same dose and really have had no problems or side effects other than I bruise easily, especially on my forearms. I use a bruise cream I get at CVS for that, but otherwise the Xarelto has been no problem and effective so far.

I also am on 20 mg and have no side effects to my knowledge. I have plenty of side effects from the Lupron I took so it's hard for me to distinguish whether a side effect is caused by Lupron or Xarelto but I think my total side effects are Lupron created.

Hello: I have been on Xarelto since 2013. Was formerly on Warfarin for 10 years prior to that. PE was the original reason. Then A-Fib kicked in and more blood clots followed. Since going on Xarelto whenever I must have any procedure where I go off the Xarelto I experience excruciating back pain. This sends me to the ER and it has happened 3 times. I now need two more procedures done and a basal cell removed and fear going off the Xarelto again because I fear the back pain again. It was that bad. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I did have back surgery 10 years ago due to a fall. I am seeking others with this same problem. I have notified any and all doctors that I come in contact including notifying the FDA of this problem. No one has ever heard of this, although back pain is mentioned in Xarelto's warning list it is very small and way down on the list.

I only took Xarelto & Propafenone for one month. Doctor had me stop both because I developed excruciating lower back pain, in my spine all the way to & including my neck. The pain is also in my arms & in my knees and legs. I have been off both meds for three weeks now & am only getting worse each day. I never experienced problems like this before taking either of the meds. Now I find it difficult to even get out of bed. I went from being an extremely active person to one who has a problem just crawling out of bed.

Let's put this in perspective. Xarelto is an anti-clotting medication intended to reduce the risk of a stroke in patients with AFIB (and some other rhythm disorders) who would otherwise be many times more susceptible to catastrophic strokes than the population at large. There are alternatives of course which you can discuss with your medical team, but I am resolved that even if I need the Xarelto for the rest of my life, I would prefer that to a much higher risk of stroke. Good luck, but I think it would be sound advice to carefully consider the risks of getting off your blood thinner without expert medical consultation.

I totally agree Ted.

I once tried to get my cardio to take me off Xarelto and his response was: "I'd hate to see you walk in here one day dragging your left foot behind you after having a stroke!" That was enough for me.

I have been on Xarelto a number of years with no side effects to my knowledge. At first I was taking 20 mg., but when I was admitted to hospital with sepsis in 2020 the dose was reduced to 15 mg.
