I am 84 and have neuropathy after chemo treatments. I was wondering if you suffer also from leg cramps or muscle cramps when you stretch. I do and while I am not taking that many meds now, I sure wish I could latch on to something that will help these awful leg/muscle cramps that wake me up in the middle of the night.

I get the cramps too. I keep a product called Theraworx by my bed. It is a foam which I spread on my leg and the pain disappears. You can get it at any drugstore.

Hello Marjorie @mlben, Welcome to Connect. I'm sorry to hear that your mobility is declining from the diabetic neuropathy. You are not alone and I'm sure others can relate. Losing my mobility is my greatest fear with my idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a lot of information on living well with neuropathy that you might helpful here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/living-well/.

Have you looked into any kind of exercises that might help with your leg strength or is the pain to great to exercise?

Other peoples suggestions and meds are useful information as I do not have a doctor never mind a specialist in neuropathy. Canada has become a third world country when it comes to health care. I have been on a wait list for over three months with Health Connect to have a doctor assigned to my pain and anguish. I got to clinics and see a different doctor every time. I am on Progabalin for my nerve pain and some other muscle relaxer for the cramps. I tried an American supplement called "NeuroPure" no significant changes or improvements to my condition. I sent the six bottles back and got my refund. I was so wishing this would help give me my life back.

I have tried all the supplements, physical therapy, accupuncture and tens. Nothing works and the doctors don't seem to care. Medical Cannabis helps me sleep and Tramadol helps with the nerve pain. That's it!

I never put the awful foot and leg cramps as part of the peripheral neuropathy. Now I am wondering.

I suffer with cramps as well & they are unbearable. A few weeks ago, I started taking 1 tablespoon of organic, Bragg vinegar, 3 times per day. I just mix it with 4 oz of juice or lemonade, whatever you like. I have not had any cramps since I started. May be anecdotal, but worth a try.

I appreciate the suggestions but can't take anything acidic due to Sjogrens dry mouth and Bullous Pemphigoid in my mouth.

Thanks anyway
