Irritated and itchy skin with no rash

Posted by 1953 @hopeful1953, Oct 20, 2022

Has anyone experienced itchy skin in one area that travels to another area in a line. I thought it might be shingles. There is great pain inside my body’s underarm. A swab sample was taken in the ER. The test turned out negative for shingles. This condition started about 3 week after my positive test for COVID. My Dr ordered a script for neurontin which has calmed the pain. I have had this condition for at least 5 weeks.

I have had burning and itching skin sense March 2022. I’ve tried everything so now my faith gets me through the day I too would like to know if there’s someone who could give me some sort of remedy. The doctors cannot find anything wrong with my skin.

2 days before i tested positive for covid, i also suffered with itchy skin , I could not stop scratching. I did a telemedicine visit with NY Presbyterian. Apparently its from covid The doctor put me on 50Mg a day for 5 days of Prednisone, which is high, but it worked like a charm.

I have,I had Covid inDecember and it took me to March to get over side effects except my skin itches at will when I go to bed at night. I haven’t found any body crème that helps. My skin is so dry on my arms it looks cracked.

Review again, COVID March 2020, I'm 68 now. Raynaud's diagnosis, March 2021, Gluten Neuropathy March 2021. Stopped all gluten. My itchy skin with occasional rash and facial flushing persisted however. This was connected to histamine intolerance which I just discovered about a month ago after searching food sensitivities prune juice (which I had started drinking), With histamine foods and drinks reduced this got much better. Additionally, (and I'm not recommending taking a new supplement w/o checking with your PCP however), I researched collagen supplements (because they are everywhere) as a possible solution to improving my leg strength. If you look at where this collagen comes from it's kind of gross so I looked up what the key amino acid is. Turns out its L-proline and 1000 mg of this is the same amount found in a very popular collagen supplement, and you can't get this AA from eating good fish of chicken. Three weeks after starting this my leg strength improved and 6 months in, I am convinced this is helping my old body rebuild its connective tissue.

have been a long hauler for more than 2 yrs. and already had an impaired immune system before getting virus in dec. 2020 long before vaccines were made. my itching and rashes i believe are all food/spice related and i've read a lot about what foods are histamine releasers and many are foods which we consider healthy. last nite hubby made spicy shrimp tacos w/guacamole and a sauce that had lemon juice/cilantro and i knew it was going to cause itching and bumps....took a Benadryl immediately after dinner and applied anti-itch cream to the trunk of my body where i guess is the most sensitive to histamine foods; also get tingling in feet when i eat something that triggers histamine release. covid: the gift that keeps on giving

Mine started about 3 weeks after Covid. My doctor said it was Covid. I pray it isn’t forever. I worried about liver disease, kidney disease . Even though numbers were good. Thank God i found this site. Puts my mind at ease a little.
