What to do about vibrations inside you that wake you up during sleep?
I am a 75 year old woman that started intermittent fasting to loose weight in March of 2022. After loosing about 20 lbs(about 4 months), I started getting vibrations during the night. It only happens when I am asleep and it wakes me up. The Doctors don't have an explanation for this. I have been to a heart specialist and now a CPAP therapist. I have started on an APAP machine for 4 days. It hasn't helped yet with the vibration buy my Apple Watch has recorded better sleep because of better blood oxygen. It had been 88-92 at night and now is 94. I drink a lot of water during the night as I wake up with a dry nose, mouth and throat.
I also am on 50 Levothyroxin ( have been for about 5 years).
I have had the first 2 Covid shots but stopped them as I experienced a hight resting heart rate after the shots.

I'm 64 same issues. The vibrations wake me up. This morning I managed to sleep until 6:00 but the vibrations were just beginning, a level 2. I started the cpap a couple months ago and noticed when I did the test WITH the machine, I went for a week and a half with NO vibrations. I slept with the cpap for about a week and wanted to know if I'd get same results at home. I wore the cpap the minimum 4 hours required BEFORE going to sleep and I can go 2,3 even 4 nights with no vibrations. I drink a lot of water also. The only central nervous system meds I take is xanax and I'm slowly coming off those, had withdrawals after major issues with a new doctor, awful. It is amazing at the number of people that have this and no one seems interested in it. I did not get the covid shot nor have I had covid so mine isn't related to that. I think mine is related to phrenic nerve injury after swallowing a huge gulp of air taking pulls one morning. I had pain for 2 days at end of esophagus. I am also about 40 pounds overweight too. Most put on since retirement on disability but I've had weight issues my whole life, who hasnt right?. Lol. My neurologist thinks it's from an over active central nervous system and stems from the brain. He wanted to put me on 2mg, a pediatric dose, of Fycompa, it's like an anti convulsant drug. I read up on it and decided NOT to take it. If we keep pressing, maybe we will find a doctor that is really interested in solving this new mystery. I'd be interested in knowing age, sleep patterns, diet, past illnesses, medications they take daily or for an extended period of time. I did have a subarachnoid hemorrhage in 2011, bleed in the brain, although no surgery was required. It's all very puzzling.
Vibrations? This is what my wife has been having for the last 2.5 months. The Cardiologist ordered some test, Echo and a stress test, both came back as good. “I” asked him to use a holster monitor, the results came back as SVT was present (irregular heartbeat), he scheduled an Electrophysilogist for her to see next month. Since then these vibrations have caused her to see Sleep/pulmonary Dr. Yesterday she saw a Psychiatrist for a medication plan as her primary was trying something different every other week. Insomnia has control of her life now and she claims the vibrations are still present but not as severe, new medications start tonight.
I've had stress test, echo, heart cath and all were fine and I'm on metoprolol beta blocker for rapid heart beat and palpitations. I wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks and I had 2 episodes but the monitor didn't pick them up. My cardiologist says everyone has irregular heartbeats but that I can feel every one I have. I don't have trouble sleeping and even dreaming. You have to be in REM sleep to dream and sleep apnea wakes you too often to get to the REM cycle. Since I've been on the nasal cpap, I have been sleeping better, longer and dreaming. I have a very mild case as my machine is set on 4, the lowest it will go. It's so hard to pin point because so many people have so many different potential reasons for them. I even thought about artificial sweetener as I was making coffee this morning. Been using it for years.
@roniw @carol1024 @wornout, I wonder if there is anything in this related discussion that is similar to your experiences.

Yes, most definitely. There are quite a few people with body vibrations. I've been posting for a month or longer except it's the other way around. You don't have the body vibrations after waking. The body vibrations are what wakes you. It is in my case anyway. Once, they were at a level 10 when I thought one of my cats jumped on the bed. I realized very quickly it was me. I didn't have any last night. I slept great, feel great, although it IS 3:00 am. Lol
It is fine to report that you are having vibrations only when you sleep, but you have to sleep. Why is this happening is the issue and how do we stop it. I have tried grounding and that does nothing. Fasting doesn’t help. I can’t sleep at night. It’s getting really hard to get any rest. My brain and eyes are key in this condition somehow. Is it some AI nano tech from something. I just want it to stop.
Welcome @akuayah, Sorry to hear you haven't found anything that helps with the vibrations when you are trying to sleep. It sounds similar to sleep myoclonus. Here is some information I found on the topic that might be helpful.
"Sleep myoclonus causes involuntary muscle twitches during sleep or when a person falls asleep. In some cases, sleep myoclonus occurs on its own without an identifiable cause. Sleep myoclonus can also develop as a result of a sleep disorder or a neurological disorder."
