Has anyone ever filed for social security disability because of sclerosing mesenteritis? Was diagnosed in 2010, had to leave my job of 35 years in 2012 because of this stupid disease! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My daughter was disabled with SM since 2008. She's now an adult and it's a nightmare in the adult SSI world..her hearing is next month. Multiple bowel resections, continued aggressive growth, TPN dependent. We have 57 people in a support group if you're interested I can give it to you. Private group.

Hi Lisa, hope you and little mac are doing okay. Do you think the gentleman who has the order would let me have a copy?

Hello Dick, yes, have had 2nd and 3rd opinions plus a biopsy done. My tumor is the size of a fist and runs from my front to my back thus the pain in all areas of the abdomen.

Hi Lisa,
My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with SM. He hasn't started treatment yet. He is in such bad shape I want to find out more about applying for social security disability. How to start the process and how long it takes. Can you give me any advice? Thanks, Noreen.

Noreen - I'll send you a private message on here and also the info on the support group we have! I think you could both enjoy it and a wealth of knowledge from the others! đŸ™‚ My kiddo is back in the hospital with this since Saturday . . . i'm bouncing between work and there. Lisa

Mark - I know your wife is in our group, but did you ever get your social security worked out? My daughter's was approved as a child under TEFRA and now as an adult now back at the end of September and was awarded from the stand at the 5 minute hearing. There are 3 now we're aware of with SM and/or MP that are approved for SSI/SSDI, but unfortunately one of them passed just prior to their social security being awarded. Let me know! đŸ™‚ or your wife can on the other! lol
