"Should you take a vitamin K supplement?
Based on the connection between vitamin K and bone health, several studies looked at whether it makes sense for anyone, including people with osteoporosis or at risk for it, to take vitamin K supplements. So far, results have been mixed.
Some studies, many of them conducted in Japan, found that supplementation with vitamin K1 or vitamin K2 improved bone mineral density, and few studies showed a decreased risk of bone fractures. Some subsequent studies found that vitamin K supplementation had no effect on bone mineral density. Many of the studies conducted thus far are limited by flaws in the design or a small number of participants."

I started taking Life Extentions Bone Restore Elite Dec 2022 so it is to soon to tell if it will help. I also take their Collagen with Peptides and I do strength training at the Super Slow Zone twice a week.

I like the Bone Restore except for having magnesium in it. I’ve read to many articles that say to take your calcium and magnesium apart, by at least 2 hours. I finally just broke down and ordered everything my functional doctor wanted me to take individually. It’s a lot of pills but I can get very close to what she wanted me taking doing it that way.

I recently had a conference call with an endocrinologist ( who specializes in osteoporosis) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He advised me to include Vitamin K2 in my diet as I have just recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis. The easiest way to incorporate K2 is through supplements. Make sure you get MK7 not MK4.

cookiegirl944. How were you able to arrange a call with a Mayo Clinic endocrinologist? Are you a regular patient of the Mayo Clinic? Or can anyone do this?
Also, why did the Mayo endocrinologist suggest MK7 vs MK4? I read that MK4 is more important. Just curious. It's crazy with different articles stating different things.
@dulu, before spending loads of your hard-earned money be sure to get the facts. Here's a good article about vitamin K supplements.

Vitamin K1 and K2 can be consumed through diet. Do you like leafy greens, chicken, eggs, hard cheese, pork? You might be covered.

How long before you get another scan? I was just diagnosed and really interested to know if this helps. Hoping for good results for you!
I just had a scan so it will be another 2 years.

I'd be interested in consulting with a Mayo Clinic endocronologist also.
