Anyone have any nebulizer recommendations?
Does anyone have any nebulizer recommendations. Would like something compact and easy to clean. Also any online sites that people recommend to get your supplies such as nebulizer and saline vials from? briefly looking it seems like there are a lot of options and they are fairly inexpensive.

Thanks, Sue, that advice is certainly wise. I will be traveling for three months and given that the Innospire has been discontinued I'm searching for a substitute. I guess I can buy two of the APOWUS, and bring them both but that means I'll be carrying extra weight. I'm considering buying the Pari-Trek but that will entail cleaning/sterilizing the nebulizer cup and I won't always have access to a place to boil water or even be able to buy alcohol. I'll be traveling in pretty remote places and mostly staying in simple accommodations. It's such a shame that the Innospire is no longer available. It seemed to be the perfect solution 🙁
But the Innospire also requires weekly sterilization, and so would the APOWUS or any other device you choose. I would get the Pari-Trek & disposable neb cups - use each for 5-6 days, washing and drying with soapy water after each use, then discard & replace. A dozen disposable neb cups, each sealed in a snack-size baggie, would be little weight or space. Save the baggies for all the things they are so handy for.

I think that I read somewhere that those disposable neb cups aren’t sterile and you should sterilize before you use them? It kind of makes sense to me, given that I sterilize all of my other equipment before using and wash any new kitchen things (pot, utensils, etc) before using.
Any thoughts on this?
My experience with disposable neb cups is you can’t boil them. They warp. I don’t have experience putting them in a bottle sterilizer.
Why would that be? They come sealed in plastic, and are used all the time in hospitals and respiratory therapy without being sterilized. When I use them, the get a soak in hot soapy water & a rinse after each use, then are tossed after a week. I don't sterilize any equipment daily - once a week per both my ID doc & RT.

I put my neb cups in the bottle sterilizer and they warped. They are the only thing I have to hand wash with hot soapy water.
I used to use a sterilizer and it warped anything that couldn’t be boiled so I’m not sure I’d try that either.
I’m just curious because I’ve considered the disposable ones but then heard they’re not sterile either.
Hi bklynprof,
I don't have advice for nebulizer. But I would love to hear about your travel experiences. Since you will be travelling for 3 months, how are you going to prepare for the infections, since we are susceptible to them?
I love to travel. But I am afraid I don't know how to deal with the infection if it occurs while I travel to Europe or Asia. I recently did some traveling in the states that went well. I am still navigating my life with this new condition. Your plan for a 3 months trip to remote areas is absolutely inspiring.
Best of luck!

Weekly sterilization wouldn't be a problem because we will be in places where we can boil water pretty much each week. I use the AeroEclipse nebulizer cup which requires sterilizing every other day. I guess I can just clear each day without using the saline solution if I can't sterilize the cup. Or I could just bring extra cups, enough to last a week without sterilizing. That would be a possibility, just extra "stuff" although I could use the same tubing for all of the cups, since that does not require washing or sterilizing.
Hi Sue,
I remember reading one of your posts where you mentioned a very knowledgeable and helpful supplier, but I can't locate that post now 🙁 Please be so kind as to re-post that name, understanding that you are not making an endorsement about purchasing from them.
Thanks,
Leslie
