What is best barrier cream for a bed sore on an incontinent adult?

Hi I have found Alleyn Pads to be helpful and Coloplast both are somewhat pricey, however if your able to get a service for wound care in thru Dr recommendation they can provide these items or similar.

Michelle, are you caring for a loved one who is bed bound?

A product called ENDIT is the best cream I’ve ever used. My mother has been incontinent and bedridden for three years and has never had a bedsore because we used ENDIT.

My dad was paralyzed from the neck down, and we were vigilant about keeping the skin clean and turning him regularly. We didn't use a barrier. The doctor suggested Op-Site but I wouldn't use it. It was a thin plastic like film that adhered to the skin on open sores. It kept the sore moist and we found it healed better being kept dry with no pressure on the sore.
When I took care of my mom, Hospice suggested a couple of barrier creams, Norisc Cream which is an antibacterial cream. or Calmoseptine Ointment.
Another option is an alternating pressure pad to help prevent pressure sores.

My husband has MS and is restricted to a wheelchair. He has had several pressure sores. Though one took months to heal, thankfully none became infected. The Wound Care Nurse recommended Coloplast and that seems to work best for him. It’s expensive: $28 on Amazon but it worked after six months of no progress with several others.

I developed a pressure ulcer. It is in the worse place. Right in the crack of my upper thigh between the leg and vagina area. I put the triad dressing on but it is impossible to keep covered. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am in a wheelchair and have to pay for transport to and from dr, so I try not to go too much, I have been able to take care of them in most places but this one is hard to keep covered.

@psale92415 Oh, to have a pressure sore right where you sit. Ouch! You mentioned that you have had several before, but you’ve been able to care for them. Have you asked your doctor for a referral to a wound nurse? They are priceless! Also, read the previous entries in this discussion. Many wound creams were mentioned.
What product are you currently sitting on in your w/chair?

I use air cushion pad on my wheelchair . I use triad after cleaning with saline and then try to keep it covered. however, the spot it is in keeping it covered is a nightmare. The gause fold and seems to make it bleed as the day goes on.
