Traveling to NJH
I've just read that Omicron subvariants are resistant to key antibody treatments for those of us who are immunocompromised. Thinking that I'd had every booster known to man and that I was relatively safe, I made travel arrangements to fly to Denver to see my doctor at NJH instead of renting an RV as I have every six months since the pandemic began. Is anyone else traveling by air right now, or have I completely lost my mind? Your thoughts? I can always cancel...I have two weeks.

Yes they do. They will send you a folder with all that information
We flew here and we are fine, but of course everyone has to make decisions on what’s best for them.
Question for those that have been or are at NJH.
I am in the process of buying my airline tickets. I can only stay to about 2pm on my last day. They say you have to stay till 5pm and leave on Saturday. I live in Asheville nc and we are limited in flights. For me allegient is the best from Asheville and they only fly certain days. I would have to extend trip by 4 more days. Unacceptable. Trips is not cheap. I checked my schedule with NJH and they have me only on my last day at 9am with the doctor I am to see.
What has been your experience and will they get mad when I tell them. Thanks for your thoughts.

We stayed at Sonder @ University Park. Close to hospital, great place and wonderful walking neighborhood.
Facility has indoor pool and parking garage. If you have to stay a week it is great to have that kitchen.
I really appreciate the info.
Hi Miriam, I was at NJH in December, scheduled from Dec 7 (Wed) - Dec 16 (Fri). I too had an appointment scheduled the last Friday afternoon. We had driven to Denver from Georgia and were watching the weather for our trip back. I had a lot of appointments the first 4 days and then just a couple on Tuesday and the wrap up one on Friday afternoon. If we had stayed the entire scheduled time, we would have run into storms on the way home. My doctor was Dr. Griffith and I asked him on that Monday if we it was necessary to stay all the way to Friday since it looked like I would be finishing my last tests and appointments on Tuesday. He was fine with it. I didn’t have any complications or anything too out of the ordinary to keep me there for more tests. I met with Dr. Griffith on MWF and on TTh, I saw another doctor or a nurse practitioner each afternoon for a wrap-up. I would suggest that when you meet with your doctor and are comfortable with him/her, just tell them the situation and ask if they could move up the last appointment. Dr. Griffith was very amiable. Hopefully whoever you see will be too.
Spoke to NJH and no problem to leave early to catch my plane home. Thanks for all your thoughts
Thanks.
I went to NJH two years ago to determine what was the underlying source of my MAC.
The local doc just did not get to the root cause and suggested I go on the big 3. With my local sputum samples being inconclusive I needed a second opinion. This happened during Covid pandemic and I was very much worried to fly but took every precaution. Lucky me I got appt. With Dr. Huitt who has since retired. The trip was well worth it and they were very thorough. I would definitely recommend going there.
In reply to miloandlisa - I just returned from NJH Feb 4.
We flew out, but fortunately, had a direct flight from Tampa.
No problem at all - but, I know that's always a concern.
