I need help

Posted by shane123 @shane123, Nov 24, 2022

I’m 35 I put myself on methadone to stop taking other things but ended up stuck on the methadone. Out of fear of being labeled with my doctor I didn’t tel him about the methadone. He put me on Prozac. It started out ok but now I keep getting nerve pain all over the place constant ringing in my ears the feeling of passing out and I’m terrified to go to sleep. Am I safe? Can I go to sleep and still wake up? I really need help as crazy as this sounds

I think what I’m dealing with now is the interaction between the 2 meds I don’t think it’s an emergency or if they could even do anything for me. Just kinda miserable and being a bit dramatic as well. I’m just keeping my eyes on when it’s all over

I am sorry but I know exactly how you feel. I just wish things weren’t so hard these days!

Hey guys I’m here proud to say 30 days strong…… but I have ran into a new problem….. I actually just got back from the emergency room. For a couple weeks now my sternum and chest has been killing me so I figured it was time to go get checked out. I personally think it’s a GI issue. Long story short they legit did nothing for me except tell me to follow up with my primary care doc. More or less it got put off on anxiety…… I tell you I’ve never been more frustrated then I am right now. I reach out for help and even now when I’m sober I still get nothing

Hi Shane, I know what you mean, it’s like a no win situation at times. I went through something similar when I quit smoking. When I was still a smoker every time I saw a doctor for something I would hear the same thing, you smoke it’s bad for you. It was like no matter what I had it always went back to my addiction. When I finally conquered my smoking addiction I would then hear them say the same thing only now it was you used to smoke. Don’t let it bother you, you’re doing good and that’s all that matters, getting rid of an addiction is huge and be very proud of yourself, like my children told me I’m a rockstar and that’s what matters. I’ve always allowed others to affect me and I now know how to get past it, it’s the only way to go if you want to stay strong. Good luck with your journey and only good wishes to you.

I suspect you have heard this many times before, but I would suggest AA. You will meet people who have encountered the same issues as you and understand.

I think if you stop the methadone perhaps the Prozac might be more effective. I do understand your fears about going to sleep, it’s not uncommon and I also have experienced this. When we’re under extreme stress it’s normal to have a strong hold on ourselves…in other words you are afraid to let yourself go, it’s just another way of trying to stay in control. I know that it’s treatable but you have to be straight up with the doctor who’s trying to help you. I tend to keep beating myself up for getting into this mess but it’s very negative thinking and not productive for my progress. At the end of the day we do our best to gain back our control over meds and everything else that’s going on. Try to be kind to yourself because you are here looking for answers and that’s a good thing,

I'm so sorry God bless you the only thing I could say is try getting some second opinions from medical people and just see if you can find anybody in your area that will help you to get the answers that you need and just pray and seek the Lord's guidance Jesus is a great physician

Hey guys it’s been a long time I know I’ve had a lot of things going on. My dad was diagnosed with cancer just yesterday. I’m still experiencing pain in my back and my chest on the left side. No seem to worry they are putting it off on anxiety imagine that! I’ve had chest X-rays ekgs back X-rays and literally everything is clear. With all of this going on I’m still here with 98 days under my belt! I’m still doing the suboxone thing unfortunately but it’s a slow process. Thank you guys for always being here even when I’m not some times. I will try and keep in better contact

Hey Shane, 98 days--wow! You have come such a long way! I feel so badly about your dad's diagnosis. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer at 60 years old, but he was able to do very well with it until he reached 75 years old. (He did have good doctors.) I think body aches can accompany withdrawal symptoms. Have you checked on acupuncture? Some people have had success with it, and I did as well. I sure do hope that things get better for you soon. Hang in there and keep pressing on. You are doing so well!

Thank you very much.. We find out more about my dad on Monday and Tuesday. Treatment options what stage all that stuff. As far as I go to be honest I think something is going on in my guts. My stomach gets to hurtin along with everything else. I’ve also been told I do have a shit load I’m dealing with all at once and it may just be that which I hope is the case.

Anxiety can bring on so much stuff that it is no surprise with all that is going on in your life. I would still have blood work done just to ease my mind; in case it is all anxiety related. I am keeping you and your dad in my prayers. In the meantime, try to stay strong for your dad. As I once told my mother: "Stay strong for Dad; he needs you now more than he ever will."
