Autoimmune Fatigue and/or Chronic Fatigue

Posted by Langold @rarelybees2889, Jan 8, 2020

Hi Wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with autoimmune fatigue and/or chronic fatigue? I was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic. I wish there was more research into both of these...

This is a good discussion... There is new research on Chronic Fatigue, as many people with long COVID have it. Some places, like Mayo Clinic, have guidelines in place to identify it, but treatments are still limited.

Thank you but so far no dermatologist will commit to checking the vulvar area. Am I checking the wrong places?

@sharing If I was in your situation, I would be very blunt with my dermatologist. Explain your history, and query if they are willing to do a complete check. If they are not, ask why and how you should go about it. They might defer you to your gynecologist.

I have had several types of skin cancer, including amelanotic melanoma [uncolored]. It is an unusual type, and was on my right forearm. I get checked twice a year.

That’s crazy. Have you tried a female dermatologist? Are you near any medical centers/teaching hospitals?

AAD is the American Association of Dermatology. I would call them. You want a board certified dermatologist. The initials FAAD after their name indicates they are board certified.

TY, Ginger. I’ve found dermatologists and would like to find someone to examine ALL my skin…everything everywhere....but it looks as though there are no doctors that would do both at once. Am I correct?
Thank you so much for your kindness.❤️

my derm looks at every inch of my skin, even bottom of my feet, top of my scalp. I did have a squamous cell carcinoma on my nose 2 yrs ago and i take Humira and Imuran (which i guess slightly increases your risk of certain cancers) and so she inspects me every 6 months. The derm i went to before did not and after he left the room and the nurse was asking if i had questions, i said "yes, is he going to examine me?" she looked surprised and said "he didnt examine you", I said" he acted like he was, but i have no faith in that exam" she went back out and brought him back in and watched him examine me a bit more thoroughly but begrudgingly. At that point, i said never mind, i will find a new doctor who wants to take care of me, and walked out.

Good for you! I only saw the doctor so that he could say that he saw me. He let his girls have a lot of leeway for not being doctors. They sent me home with a list of instructions as to how to apply a “thin layer” of some cancer killing topical cream. REALLY? I was 70 and got the expensive cream but never used it…then came the pandemic, etc., the tube expired. But, wtf? Sorry.

I found this article from last December. About a New approach to brain fog due to long Covid patients claims of brain fog and mental fatigue. I share here and hope to learn to know different opinions https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/long-covid-brain-fog-treatment
