Long Covid come and go or ongoing

Posted by jslgolf13 @jslgolf13, Nov 27, 2022

I believe my long Covid began about 2 months ago with what I thought was a stomach virus. It lasted about 3-4 days then started feeling better. A few weeks later same thing, and a few weeks later (currently), I’m on day 4 of same (exhausted, body aches, tinnitus, nausea and hunger). In between episodes have dizziness and weight loss).

Hopefully it stays intermittent, as at least I have some relatively healthy times, but not real confident after reading posts.

Has anyone on here “only” had long Covid for months instead of years and finally recover.

I’m at the beginning and not looking forward to what May be ahead.

@bmd

I’ve had 1-3 days feeling better, meaning reduced head noises/sensations and fatigue. Unfortunately, the extreme fatigue and head symptoms, brain fog, come back. Sadistic virus. In month 9. Still hopeful we will all get through this.
Peace.

Hope we both say goodbye to it soon!

I’ve had episodes of shortness of breath and tachycardia for about 3 months post COVID. Pulmonary Function test normal. Heart rate is usually 72 but now can go up to 120 or 130 after walking my dog. I’m not sure what is causing this but have never had anything like this after what I consider minimal exertion.

I am 78 years old and got Covid mid November and was very sick for 3 full days, didn’t eat and had a high fever and just in LaLa land. The 4th day my husband took me to Mayo Clinic ER and they couldn’t give me the medication to help because I take Eliquis. I did start feeling better a little every day and felt pretty good two weeks later. The only issue that continues is I have stomach issues. I have always had a strong stomach. I could eat spicy, no heart burn or nausea. Now I have to be careful what I eat and the bloating and heart burn is painful. I am hoping it goes away soon but seems to be part of my life today.

mom got covid March 2000 (she's now 92), and that is what she was left with also... Severe bloating / etc. in the morning after waking and after eating. Do you feel like vomiting for a period of time after eating?

Yes, I vomited on my 5th and 6th day of Covid and have continued to be nauseated after I eat. There is a weird fullness and bloating in my stomach during and after the Covid Episode. Yes, I feel like I am going to vomit if I eat a big meal. So I am careful..I know it is related to Covid because as I mentioned above I have always had a strong stomach and hadn’t vomited for maybe 40 years or more and vomited 6 times during the covid episode…Mayo Clinic ER Said vomiting is one of the recognized issues with during a Covid episode. I am hoping it goes away soon…otherwise I feel ok.

Do you take anything that helps avid the bloating and vomiting? My mom has Alzheimers and also takes Eliquis. She has a hard time communicating symptoms, but definitely says she feels like throwing up and we can hear the burping immediately after eating. She also feels bad when she wakes up. But we have noticed she experiences the stomach symptoms more in he a.m and after lunch than after dinner. When we first got covid back in March 2000, stomach issues were not listed. Of course testing was not being given. My mom was only tested because she spiked a 102feverand giver her age was admitted to hospital...In terms of rehab - worse thing that could have happened - but that's another story. Now we are hoping too help her avoid the daily stomach discomfort she feels after easting...

My situation was very similar. Had covid june22.

Long Covid started with stomach virus end of October. Lasted 4-6 days. Got better, then same thing a few weeks later, then thanksgiving I got hit hard and was pretty much in bed for a month. Things then started gettin better slowly by February i was probably 60% better, March 80%, and now mostly better. Only some minor stomach issues. Also, I got a cold in April and a lot of the long COVID symptoms came back but lucky disappeared as soon as the cold got better about a week later.

Good luck!

Hello, I have had covid three times now . Once in April 2020. Oct. 2021 and Nov. 2022. The first time I ended up in the hospital with severe vertigo. It took about a little over a year for the vertigo, dizziness, fatigue and unbalance to go away. In July of 2020 I got vaccinated with the pfizer shot. I had a bad reaction and ended up the the ER. with severe leg pain and dizziness. I then got covid again in Oct. 2021. It wasn't as bad just a little dizzy and fatigue and loss of taste and smell it lasted about two months. I actually felt very good after this time with covid. It felt great that I was finally recovered from covid. Unfortunately, in Nov 2022 I got covid again. Not so good this time around. I am having vertigo, dizziness, unbalanced, lightheaded-fainting, vestibular migraines/headaches/stiff neck/, fatigue, brain fog, electrical sensations in the brain/electrical shock feels like/hard to explain. But, it has gotten a little better as the months go on. I had to change my diet, take vitamins and drink a lot of water. It is now June of 2023 and I would say I am about 50% well. Symptoms are not as intense. Learning to cope with this new normal feeling! Prayers to everyone, God please help us all....

It is a very strange thing , this long Covid . The latest thing was what felt like someone stabbing me through the palms of my hands! Very brief but frightening. Tuesday was the best I’ve felt since January. So I know it is possible . Back to bed on Wednesday. But now I know what it feels like to be human again!
