Pain in the butt - Can't sit down
I have had very intense pain at my sitz bones for over 7 months and am unable to sit down. when I sit, it feels like I am sitting on two hot pokers or rocks and it is really unbearable. So, I have been standing for seven months. I've been to a couple of spine and pain management doctors, an orthopedist, a chiropractor, a neurologist, an acupuncturist, and a massage therapist. The original diagnosis was ischial bursitis but that ha not appeared on any images. I don't have any issues with any of my lumbar disks. I'm in constant pain even when standing or lying down though those activities do not hurt as much as sitting. Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

For what it’s worth I had the same pain for years. Saw all types of doctors . Finally had an ablation of the orbituator nerve which got me out of this pain .
It’s helped me as well. Great results so far with a great qualified and certified therapist.
@ecalderman I’m pretty sure I had ischeal bursitis, too. Try the enzymes serrapeptidase (biomedix brand buy the 260,000 u bottle), nattokinase (2000 U doctors best brand) and I just started working lumbrokinase (doctors best brand). All are available on Amazon. Try with higher levels of vitamin c. I think fibrin (which normally helps blood clot) gets bound to nerves, tissues, bursa and causes stiffness, pain and inflammation (that’s speculation- but, could be right). Fibrin has been implicated in several autoimmune diseases. It took a few months but I had a post above where I mentioned these enzymes. The use of these enzymes and proper stretching and exercise cured me- and I believe it is curing the root problem which stops the pain and the inflammation- not simply dulling the pain with meds or surgery. At least I feel it is working for me. If you don’t have a clotting disorder and you can tolerate the enzymes (take on an empty stomach) they might help. Good luck.
i had terrible pain in my sit bones for a few years and arranged 8"x 15" pillows so that i could sit on my thighs and not my sit bones. just recently, my doctor sent me to his chiropractor for back pain. the chiropractor said (as a dr from mayos had said casually a few years earlier) that i had a twisted sacroiliac. with his treatments, the sciatic nerve actually moved around to the side and off my sit bones. it didn't cure the pain, but moving it off my sit bones has made a huge difference. i can sit and read again
May I ask which treatments your doctor have done for moving the sciatic nerve?
@amomynous @shaytsadik Here is a link that explains some of the issues that happen when the pelvis is tweaked and how physical therapy can help. https://trainingandrehabilitation.com/identify-treat-lumbar-plexus-compression-syndrome-lpcs/
Myofascial release might be able to help and it is mentioned in the article about lumbar plexus compression syndrome.

it is a chiropractic machine. you stand there and they tilt it and tap you on the back. it seems as though nothing is happening, but the results are amazing. the purpose was to untwist my sacroiliac, and the moving of the sciatic nerve was a side effect
@amomynous chiropractic adjustments didn’t help my sitting pain. The other things I mentioned in this post and pudendal nerve entrapment thread did help me. I think it depends on the nature of someone’s issue.
i had it for a few years. relief came unexpectrdly. my dr made me go to a chiropractor, who decided that my problem was a twisted sacroiliac. when he treated ths, my sciatic nerve moved off my sit bones and around to the sides. still have sciatica, but a great relief to have it off the sit bones
@amomynous 30 years of SI joint pain relieved by chiro who untwists my sacrum. Takes 2-3 minutes! Sent to her by my surgeon. That's about once a month and as an auxiliary to SCS. Almost zero pain even early in the a.m.
