Suffering from the same thumping sound as you described, especially when I am about to go to sleep or sleeping, and sometimes just as I wake up. Usually, my ears feel full and clogged when it happens. I wish someone had some concrete answers.

Jones911--im happy to report my thumping has completely gone away. I still have some ringing, but it doesn't really bother me nearly as bad as the thumping. The thumping was driving me crazy!!

@cmerow Your issue sounds vascular. You should definitely set up an online with dr Althos Palisades. Google his name, he could help.

It sounds like I have the same thing going on. Feels as if there’s water in my ears and someone is constantly (fast and sporadic) tapping my head. Like a small popping constantly in my right ear. It does not match my heart at all and is not rhythmic. I can’t find any relief. Any suggestions for at home relief anyone??

I unfortunately never figured it out medically but it did stop after some months of basically just ignoring it.

Hello. I have been experiencing a thumping noice in my right ear in exact synchrony with music or people talking only when I’m lying down and falling asleep. It’s never in time with my heartbeat but always in time with voices or music. What can this be?

Hello @mrse123, Welcome to Connect. I don't think @marishka1967 is still following Connect as the member only posted the one time in 2018. The member posted "It’s never in time with my heartbeat but always in time with voices or music".

I did find a reference article that sounds like it might be similar to this type of tinnitus.

I'm hoping that other members with symptoms similar to yours can share what they've found out. Have you discussed your symptoms with your doctor?
