Diagnosed with endometrium adenocarcinoma few days ago

Hi 👋 I’m 48 years old and diagnose with cancer . What kind or type, I don’t know yet.. I’m still waiting for the referral response for oncologist referred by gynaecologist. The gynaecologist performed biopsy through colposcopy and test results that’s there’s an abnormalities same result on my Pap smear. He said that he can only perform surgery for me for hysterectomy if cancer is on stage 1, if that is stage 2 , then he’ll need to referred me to oncologist. So pretty obvious it’s not stage 1 because he referred me to oncologist. I’m too anxious about this, really want to know the prognosis on my case. Now I’m in the agony of knowing what really is my condition and what is going on in my body. As for myself I know I’m a healthy women, no drinking and smoking habit.
Appreciate all the response. And comments on how to cope my anxiety and how to accept the fact that I have cancer and how to manage it. I’m still on the process of accepting and digesting all the news for myself.

Update for Gynae Oncologist
Contacted me yesterday and have an appointment on November 28th. Should I take an off now for work , or work still until I meet the oncologist. My jobs are more on physical demanding job. I’m off week this week using my vacation.
To all my co patients, after you meet up with your oncologist, how long did you wait to schedule for hysterectomy surgery.

I was just diagnosed with uterine cancer also with endometrial adenocarcinoma. They were going to do the surgery immediately within two days but I said no because we needed to confer with my cardiologist. Just had a cardiac surgery and wanted to determine the best process to follow with the least risk to me. I have a transesophageal echo echo scheduled for 12 one. And expect my hysterectomy to be scheduled after that.

If it’s not no much to ask, was this related to fibroids? Or did you had them before this diagnosis? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻🌼 thank for sharing your journey praying for blessings of healing ❤️‍🩹

Got abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound on 2019, results came out fibroids. My doctor said nothing to worry about fibroid, as all women has it.
When my symptoms of blood spotting started since January and started to have a heavy bleeding on my period. Sometimes started also having a white thin secretion with a fishy smells, sometimes dark thick yellow that leaves stain on my underwear. I did another abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound, still fibroid came out and fatty liver. No hints of any related cancer or any suspicious result.
Pap smear give me a clearer suspicious abnormalities on my abnormal bleeding . So my family doctor performed the endocrine biopsy and referred me right away to Gynaecologist.
Base on my experience, any abnormal bleeding or discharges, don’t ignore it it’s your body you can feel what is something suspicious to your body, consulted right away to your doctor.

Great, so glad you have an appt set. I am retired but I can tell you I continued my routine until I met with the Gyn onc. She did a pelvic exam to confirm how she would do the surgery which I think you will have….also because I also had fibroids she wanted to double check how she’d remove everything in one piece. The exam was less time than a normal annual Gyn exam. It wasn’t a big deal. Whatever you normally would do for a Gyn appt should be fine. Do you usually work up until you have a regular Gyn appt? The Gyn onc appt I had was on 10/7 and I was able to have my robotic laparoscopic full hysterectomy on 10/19. Surgery went extremely well. I had had a D&C 9/28 so they wanted to wait 3 weeks after the D&C.

Learned of cancer biopsy on November 14th and had my first oncologist meeting November 17 and surgery scheduled for Dec. 7th. Still waiting for body scan. Symptoms of intermittent post menopausal bleeding began 14 months ago but biopsy at that time did not show cancer, Bleeding subsided but began again 4 months ago. Still intermittent. Praying for localised cancer with clear margins during hysterectomy.

@whengzy19 Great that you have that appointment coming up soon. As @pugpeople wrote I kept up with my usual days and routines until I saw the gyn-oncologist. Before my appointment she read my chart and my pathology results so she came into the room prepared with her recommendations. I was scheduled for a hysterectomy 5 days later. I was retired from full-time work by then but still working part-time. I decided to take those days off before the hysterectomy so I could clean up the house a bit and stock the refrigerator figuring that I would not feel like doing much after the surgery. I didn't have any specific physical restrictions before the surgery. I did have instructions for the day before the surgery that had to do when to stop eating solid food but that's the case for all surgeries where you will have general anesthesia.

I hope this helps. @whengzy19 Will you please let me know what happens at your appointment on November 28?

@wrightvillebeach That's a lot to take in within only a few weeks however I'm relieved to know that your surgery is scheduled so quickly after the diagnosis and meeting with the oncologist.

I have been where you are both physically and emotionally. Once I received the diagnosis (endometrioid adenocarcinoma) everything happened very quickly and within a week I had a hysterectomy.

I am holding you in my thoughts for the best outcome--localized with clear margins and no other involvement.

Will you come back and let me know the results of the pre-surgical scan? How are you feeling about all of this?

I starting bleeding mid May, and I don't think they thought it was much of anything so weren't even going to see me till mid July, however, my primary care person sent me to another gynecologist who saw me by 6/1, did a
hysteroscopy on 6/27 and then diagnosed with Figo 1 ad, and sent me to gyn oncologist, 7/14 who then did give me a written 6 week off from work, my thinking surgery would be done soon. I was never schedule for hysterectomy till 8/29, two weeks later went back to work, Feeling very good. I wish I had not been off so long waiting. I can only have 3 months off in a year or lose my position at work, so right now only have 3 weeks more left, but I sit some and walk some, was on a weight limit of 10lbs for 6 weeks after. I have now been given 1 chemo treatment took 4 days off after of vacation time, 2nd chemo treatment is this coming Monday, and with vacation time will be off till Saturday, work 1 day and be off my normal two days. Before going back to work. So, all I can say depends on how you feel I was having alot of pain prior to, but, everything takes alot of time. I will have 25 radiation treatments and 2 brachy after 6 chemo, because some of the cells were in fluid outside of serous so they are being overactive to make sure they don't start growing elsewhere. Hopefully, they have caught you sooner than they did me and everything goes quicker for you.

I am remaining positive with a strong faith no matter what the outcome … I will live life for as long as I can and as well as I can. I have supportive friends and family on both this side of heaven and on the other so all is good. I will certainly keep you posted unless I lose my way navigating this new on line format. God bless you.
