There is a class action law suit against the manufacturer of OxyContin/Tylenol 3. Clonazapam is only 20 years old. The more everyone screams the more we will be heard.

I've spoken to and called multiple lawyers to find help against a doctor who withdrew my son suddenly, with no refills/no tapering/no instructions/no suggestions, from Klonopin. I've hit dozens of brick walls. The last lawyer stated he considered my son's situation a tragic life, a tragic case, but too expensive and difficult to go further due to the complexity of his illness and the 20 years of poor treatment.
Does anyone know of a Klonopin Class action lawsuit? or can this be included in the Benzo suit?
Any help is appreciated and needed!

Unfortunately, many attorneys don’t take medical cases as they may have a limit on what the liability in that state can be. In other words, some states put a cap on the amount a client can win.Secondly, they know will be a long and expensive lawsuit. Now as a nurse, I can tell you there can be a tremendous amount of things that go wrong and it never gets corrected.

The lawyer for whom I had high hopes, specializing in medical malpractice, said it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, be long and we might not win due to my son's complicated history with dystonia. I don't see the complications. The doctor stopped the Klonopin flat out and suddenly. No discussion. No instructions. No tapering. No warning. Just stopped. He had seizures, began whispering, couldn't think logically, was extremely paranoid, thought the tv and computer were watching and listening to him, etc. This is an extremely bright, honors lawyer. Never had this kind of behavior before. It was horrifying for him and for me. I found him unconscious on the kitchen floor. He was on 5 or more IVs at one time to try to get his heart to beat normally, and to get his other levels to normal. It took 4 days in the hospital and months out and he's not the same now. Will never be the same.
So, we do nothing. I'm angry and want to beat something or someone, but don't have the strength and it would hurt my arthritic hands too much!
When I'm stronger, have iron deficiency anemia at the moment...I'll call some other attys, but have little hope.

When I first tried to go off I was up to 6mg of Xanax. If I recall correctly <insert joke here> there is a 20to1 conversion with Valium. That makes my highest dosage the equivalent of 120mg of Valium. Today the max dosage is 30.
I was on Benzos for 25 years. Today the recommended maximum length of treatment is 4 weeks.
That's 4 x the allowed dosage for 300 x the allowed time... using todays guidelines,
No one I ever found on crazymeds or benzobuddies had been steeped in the garbage to that degree.
I decided to go off, it was my idea, my insistence, and the psychiatrist, Joe, didn't support me.
It took me six years to 'recover.' The last symptom to go is tinnitus.
I told him my ears were still ringing - he shook his head like I was lying.
He said, "back in my residency we used to take people off valium in a few weeks and they were fine."
I said, "how do you know they were fine Joe?"
He said... "their vitals."
I am now divorced, unemployed, and broke. I have three children.
Today I found this note I had written to myself a few days after being laid off from a construction job
(previous to the withdraw I had been a six figure executive - not that it matters... to me)

pain / writhing / biting & looking for sharp corners, “nausea" (not eating, then ravenous), temperature intolerance, dissociation, shaking, sweating

I wish I knew. The pharmaceutical companies and the doctors need to be held accountable. Making someone cold turkey a benzodiazepine is heinous. The doctor tortured your son and got away with it. Maybe someday we’ll be taken seriously. In the mean time good luck and God bless.
Give this some more time. You may be surprised as to how he bounces back. It can take a long time to heal for some people, but healing 100% happens all the time.

I've prayed for him for the Lord to heal his pain, to send someone to help, to bless the doctors he's seeing at the moment, to bless the situation, to give him relief emotionally from the horrible losses of his whole life, etc and etc. I've asked for prayers and he's getting them from my church prayer group, and others as well. Other than some kind of Holy intervention, I see no hope for my son to have any further relief from his acute or chronic pain, to have a life with any semblance of quality or joy. Dystonia and his medical issues have no solution as far as I know. The damage caused by Klonopin's sudden withdrawal is enormous, both physical and emotional. I now have a precious, bright son filled with pain and emotional rage, paranoia, and uncontrollable explosions.
Please, I appreciate your positive outlook and I've worked every second of the last 20 years to present him with positive options, with support and to be there for him...I've been in a 20-year fight-or-flight situation and I'm exhausted. I'm also furious with the medical profession, and the health centers that can't/don't/won't/dodon't know how to give him some help. It's been completely impossible to imagine the calls I've made, docs who don't or can't help, the psychiatrists who aren't available...
So, thank you for your support and your good thoughts. Please keep them coming. But, I"m pretty much through with any expectations of helping him in any way.

Whoever allowed this doctor to remain
ignorant of,
or uncompliant to,
hopefully developed and mandated protocols... is culpable.
