New antidepressant: Has anyone tried Auvelity?

Anyone know the name of new antidepressant, approved by FDA, that's supposed to be available at end of this year?

Yes I agree. I haven’t heard from one person that it didn’t make a little crazy and bad tempered.

In The Netherlands they use a novel USA one that is given via nasal spray. Is that the one you mean?

No, it's not that. I'd like to try that nasal spray but it is very expensive, isn't it, or is it covered by Medicare?

I feel like I have been on every antidepressant there is but after 8 years on Lexapro and Covid my anxiety and mood is horrible. I am seriously searching for something to try, maybe it’s not meds, maybe it’s new? I am not sure but I have a 7 & 11 year old and I am always irritated with anything and moody and my anxiety is beyond controlled. My psychiatrist is also out of ideas and feeling very down and sad that I am never going to feel happy again. I am attending an online group and I work very hard on myself but with a chemical imbalance, I need something or someone good. Thank you for listening to me.

To @leftyo128 I’m sorry you’re feeling down. I think chasing those 2 kids isn’t helping. I only had 1, a son and now 2 grandsons 7 and 12 months. For myself I don’t know about depression, but I have anxiety that gets out of control sometimes. I have neck problems (pinched nerves) among other things, and not much of anything really does anything. I have occipital neuralgia and get shots in my head every 3 months or so and they do work, if done timely. I was also put on Cymbalta (Duloxitine) which is an antidepressant that they’ve found helps nerve pain. It does help, and one thing I noticed after I started taking it my mood was a lot better. Maybe I am depressed what do I know. But I just wanted to tell you what my experience was with that if you already haven’t tried it. Maybe that would help

I just received two bottles of samples of Auveltiy from my doctor to try.
I have treatment resistant depression and have tried everything you can think of. Hoping this will work. Has anyone tried it?

Yes, please keep me posted (:
I'm still suffering from bad anxiety and been feeling depressed lately. Currently on mirtazapine and have been using the Fisher Wallace Stimulator to no avail.

@colleenyoung, @divinewisdom28 I will keep you informed. This was only my 2nd day taking the Auvelity and side effects have not been as bad as I thought, although I feel slightly nauseous at times, but it goes away after awhile. Will keep you posted.

@divinewisdom28 You are so very welcome. I'll see how it goes over the next week or two and give you an update. I am definitely treatment resistant so I'm really hoping this works. The only thing my doctor has recommended that I haven't tried is Spravato nasal spray. I'm not really adverse to trying it. It's more a matter of logistics. My doctor has had a lot of success with Spravato but he is in Dallas and I live about 200 miles south of there. I found a doctor close to me who is willing to administer it but they will not allow you to drive yourself to or from appointments because of possible side effects. They also monitor you for a couple of hours after using the spray. I don't know anyone in this area I could ask to take me to appointments. If the Auvelity doesn't work I may see if they will let me take Uber to appointments, although they've said they are not thrilled about that option but would probably allow it. I'm getting ahead of myself since I don't know yet if the Auvelity will work but I'll be reporting in! God bless all of you that are suffering with depression. I find that it is so hard for my friends and family to understand. I'm grateful for this website!
