Anyone else experience Weight Gain with long COVID?
I have had ~30 pound weight gain since November 2020 when I initially had COVID. It seems disproportionate to my calorie intake. Any one else with this?

He is a great doctor. He is my GP and is an Internal Specialist. He has listened and worked with me to try to find out the root cause to my long list of symptoms.
If you can provide the info for the National Vaccine Injury Program that would be so helpful. Did not know there was one and I regularly search the web for info about what we have all gone through. Thank you!
I had Covid in January 2022. Prior, I’ve been the same weight +\- 5 lbs my entire adult life with an active, healthy lifestyle. I’ve steadily added 25 lbs to my abdomen area since I was sick. Drs are running tests to check for any potential underlying causes, so far nothing. The only change in my life was Covid and it’s very frustrating to understand why this is happening or why it’s not dropping with intentional effort.
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! Would love to chat with you more about this is you can find me on Instagram @amastromatto
My sick episode occurred during the pandemic onset prior to any Covid-19 testing being available to the general public. So I can't say what I had . But whatever it was, I too have experienced weight gain afterward. My weight has never been a concern in the past. I recently came across a Mayo Clinic article online entitled "Lack of sleep increases unhealthy belly fat" by Terri Malloy, May 23, 2022. I certainly experienced a lack of sleep during the early Covid-19 pandemic as well, not mention far less exercise. I have recently joined "Mayo Clinic Diet" in a effort to learn some basics on dieting in order to stabilize my weight. I have find it helpful, as it pulls together a lot of information in a way I am unable to (with dyslexia) independently.
Perhaps a moderator could provide a link to Terri Malloy's article, they are listed under Mayo Clinic Press Editors.
Yes, I'm 58. When I first came down with covid, I lost 27 lbs in a week. I was walking 3 miles a day prior to covid. Because Neuropathy came along with long covid, I can't walk a long distance now, I walk like I'm drunk. Plus always short of breath. I gained 30 lbs in 5 months because I'm too tired to do anything but lay in bed and watch TV. Because I can't really exercise, I fast. I Still get my vitamins, protein etc. Lots of water. Broth. Veggies and fruit. I've now lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. Good luck.
Yes I’d like it also🙏🏻
Has anyone tried food grade diatomaceous earth powder? I met two people in one week who told me to take this right away! Look up the reviews on this! I was told I might have SIBO and placed on a FODMAP diet until my test kit comes. If positive will do protocol for it. But going to ask my dr about it. She very integrated but I’m sure some drs might poo poo it! Anyway seems harmless and SO MANY people have deemed it a miracle. I’m still doing my research but I’m TIRED OF FEELING CRAPPY! The FODMAP diet has helped and I think I might be gluten intolerant now! And very limited sugar! But that may be because of the bacteria overgrowth. Once it’s gone I am hopeful to feel great again. Also as much as I’d like to lay around too- which is not my nature even when I had Covid- I push myself to exercise. Moderately. And back to yoga which has helped! Good luck everyone. And keep in touch!
Here is the powder a friend told me to look at! Please read ALL the reviews people post!
