Dialated Cardiomyopathy with decreased EF rate
I had mitrol valve replacement in 2014. I was recently diagnosed with dialated cardiomyopathy. I’m getting a muga scan end of Jan 2019 to get a better read on my EF rate cause it’s right on the cusp of heart failure. I’m trying to find more info on this diagnosis. Supposedly, life span has increased from 2 to 5 years to possibly 7 or more years. I have a pacemaker but expect to get a defibrillator put in to help avoid possible sudden death. The muga scan will determine my need for this. Any one have any current information on this diagnosis.

I would still see if water retention may be making you feel worse. As I too damaged my heart not due to cocaine but a virus cased my to enlarge from the water surrounding my heart and the symptom of lack of breath was the first symptom. Just a thought as I ended up on once a day diuretics which helped a lot
Hey everyone,
So I'm still pushing on, I'm actually in a outpatient rehabilitation program called family recovery court, and I have to do a lot of groups, one on one therapy, family interactions, weekly incentives and I'm so tired, I don't want to viewed as weak, but running around constantly every day is starting to wear me down. I know it's what's best for my sobriety, but now I've lost my appetite, and it's very rare that I eat actual food, is that from my heart? Does DCM make you lose your appetite?? Love my fellow DCM SURVIVORS!!
