Wooden feeling and function on leg muscles

Posted by bettyjackson @bettyjackson, Aug 18, 2022

2&1/2 years post first covid. Multiple typical long haul symptoms loss smell/taste, brian fog, bad balance etc.
But 2months ago the tops of my feet and front of shins started feeling like sensation of having tight leggings pressing on them. This has progressed to encircling both legs up to top of thighs...no pain, just pressure....now my walking has become an awkward kind of wooden gait. Anyone else???
Unable to get into Neurologist until Oct28.
Anyone else ideas?

@bettyjackson, the few studies that investigated the mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 clearly pointed out that the viral disease affects the musculoskeletal system. Read more here: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fphys.2022.813924/full

Others have mentioned pain and/or numbness, but your symptoms seem different. You say you have no pain.

- Tingling/numbness in face, arms and legs. Walk isn't normal https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/tinglingnumbness-in-face-arms-and-legs-walk-isnt-normal/

Does the feeling come and go or is it constant?

Thank you for the links! The feeling comes and goes. Some days more intense then others. I don't notice it when I first wake up and lying in bed. Usually it's about 5 to 10 minutes before I slowly start feeling the sensations. Typically starts either in my right arm or my right side of the face. And thus far I have not ever experienced any pain. I still have my strength (grip, etc.) but I get fatigued easily. Again some days worst then others.
