Does anyone know of this. I think its rare but does exist. My neurologist does not know about this. I have compression between my c5 and c6 cervical disk and have had alot of sun damage to my skin.

It sounds like you have information and support to give.

May I ask what brings you to Connect?

What brand do you use? Everything that I’ve tried on my skin burns & the cold pack is the only thing that has helped.

Only cure to date I have found after suffering for 30 years with what I thought was itching, but have found to be pain. So 2000 I begged a Dr she prescribed 8 hydroxyzine.mg 25 . Since reduced to 4 with an extra one. I have since found per a Dr Aspercreme. It works! Also a prescription cream I can't remember the name. The white spots are scars from all the scabs from endless scratching and bleeding.

Hydroxazine is an antihistamine used for itching related to histamine release. It is not a pain pill. Brachial pruritis is not due to the release of histamine. Glad it help

The burning resolves after a couple days. Capsaicin is the one drug that has pharmaceutical properties that blocks the neuro reaction to the skin. If used as directed consistently it will stop the reaction for me it took 10 days. I also iced consistently until it kicked in. It was one of the worse things I’ve had to deal with from a medical perspective. I’m afraid of it erupting again with summer coming.

Both Mayo Clinic and Cleveland clinic include this disorder with treatment guidelines on their sites. I would recommend them before all else
