I tried some supplements with GABA and they did not help me sleep, but everyone's body is different and reacts differently. Hope it can work for you!
I was considering hypnotism. Did it help at all?
No it didn’t help with sleep.
It didn’t help me at least
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve had some success with Fischer Wallace Stimulator, only using it for 2 weeks so far. I had been 0-2 hours of sleep for 3 months. The most I’ve gotten so far with the FW Stimulator was over 7 hours one night plus an actual nap the same day. I was first using it just at night to treat insomnia- per the instructions- but now that I have depression as well, I’m using it in the morning and at night as directed. I will see if this new pattern of use results in more consistent results. The FW Stimulator comes with a 30 day money back guarantee. I’m still in the trial period and it’s been the best thing for me so far after trying about 5 different meds and all the other hygiene stuff like yoga, meditation, reading, exercise, tea, supplements, etc. I’m also peri menopausal so I’m thinking that is also affecting my sleep and depressive feelings. I’m happy to keep the dialogue going here or talk offline. This has been and can be a very lonely and isolating experience, from what I’ve been feeling. Best wishes.
I’m have horrific insomnia I don’t doze or get sleepy I do yawn. But my sleep has been so bad since I got Covid. No one seems to be able to help. Just put me on meds like benzos. I’m cold Turkey on Klonopin and temazapam I have so much anxiety my heart rate is through the roof. I so appreciate you reaching out. You seem very very sweet. Are you on any meds?
Any meds now?
I have been prescribed and tried 5-6 meds and on my own tried CBD oil. Nothing helped or did not help for very long and most had bad side effects for me (dizzy, lightheaded, chest pain). I am not taking anything right now. Today, I have been given a prescription for gabapentin for "as needed" for sleep. Have not taken it before and will wait on trying it. I am wanting to exhaust all non-medication remedies first. I ordered Equelle recently for perimenopause side effects and look forward to taking that (it is a plant-based supplement) as I have hot flashes at night. I also recently started acupuncture for insomnia, anxiety and perimenopause. I am one week in on this treatment so I don't have anything to report on acupuncture yet. Next week I have a 15 minute free consultation with a TEAM-CBT therapist through Feeling Good Institute (Dr. David Burns' group) and if that goes well, I will start on that therapy (telemedicine).
Your doing all the right things. Dr. Burns is great
