Adding Zetia to 40mg Crestor: interested in others' experiences

Posted by crankyyankee @crankyyankee, Jul 11, 2022

I'm a 77 year old, energetic woman with bad genes! Father died at 57 of a massive heart attack, and his brothers and sisters all had heart disease. Although I was and am asymptomatic, my CAC score in 2016 was a terrifying 1024 and I was put on atorvastatin by my primary under whose care I remained until I had an episode of shortness of breath in 2019 and was sent to a pulmonologist. He diagnosed, rightly, political anxiety 😂 but recommended I see a cardiologist. He put me on 20 mg of Crestor, then sometime later upped to 40mg and mentioned possibly Zetia in my future. The future is today, with my stubborn LDL at 79, he's added 10mg of Zetia. He mentioned that it could cause gastro issues so I'd really like to hear from anyone out there whose medical and pharmacological history is similar to mine.

Hi @crankyyankee, I don't have any experience with Crestor and Zetia but did a quick search of Connect at the top of the page and found the following members who may be able to share their experience using Zetia with Crestor. @markdeegan @helpfull @ihaq1 @hmccarth5 @jlharsh and @keithl56 have posted about using Zetia along with Crestor in other discussions and hopefully can share their experience with you.
