Yes, I have seen it. This is the best one I have seen. I think it is excellent.

I had the Vivaer and had no noticeable swelling afterwards. Maybe I was breathing so much more easily that there was swelling but a net improvement and I didn't notice it.

For anyone who has it done, the pre-procedure instructions from my ENT included 2X/day nasal flushing with a Neil sinus rinse thing, to which was added the Neil powder (finely-ground salt and bicarbonate of soda if I recall correctly) and a prescribed iodine-based rinse. I did that for 14 days before and 10 after the procedure. I still occasionally use the Neil sinus rinse thing, without iodine, because I figure it flushes out allergens. And can't hurt. And covid is still around and, according to research in Sweden, the virus is weakened or killed by salt. But mostly because, well, it can't hurt.

Question to people who have had the Vivaer procedure or are considering it: You probably have nasal passage/valve obstruction, but do you (or did you) also have pain associated with nasal passage/valve obstruction condition?

I just had the Viv Aer procedure 4 days ago. Doc NEVER WARNED ME OF SWELLING. I now look unrecognizable, as if Rocky has punched me out. The former thinness of my nose is gone, replaced by a WIDE TRIANGLE on my face. Can I breathe better - yes, but there's still the EXPECTED crustiness of the scabbing, which is temporary. I was able to get a message to the doc about this SWELLING and was told I could use "cold compresses" - would have been APPROPRIATE TO WARN OF SWELLING and be informed to apply ice 4 days ago! Will the swelling go down, I asked. The answer: "It should." SHOULD is NOT what I wanted to hear. Your nose is a genetic feature. I now no longer see my deceased father's face in my nose. Hopefully, this massive swelling is temporary. If not, there had better be a way to reverse this mess.

You are an amazing human being!! You could not have been more thorough or entertaining! If only I had found this BEFORE my Viv Aer procedure. I had mine 4 days ago and was never informed about any swelling or the shocking difference in the shape of my nose! Now, from your video, I understand that this swelling is perfectly normal. I was also told the results were immediate and I could leave the office and resume life as usual. However, when the lidocaine wore off, I found myself in a great deal of discomfort, which is understandable after listening to your details about the 140 degrees (F, of course) that caused burning to our nasal passages. I was never informed of the "burning" effect, so did not comprehend a reason for the pain. I was told the cartilage needed to "be thickened" w/ the Viv Aer procedure. Like you, I had the same collapse upon breathing in. Unlike you, I've had 3 prior septoplasty surgeries decades ago. Now, 4 days out, I look like Rocky beat me up! I no longer recognize my deceased father's nose in my reflection. It's comforting to know that this will get better over time. My doc should have been much more informative. You've done us all a great service! What a great guy you are! You certainly deserve to breathe well through your nose!

No pain, just discomfort.
