I just had the Viv Aer procedure 4 days ago. Doc NEVER WARNED ME OF SWELLING. I now look unrecognizable, as if Rocky has punched me out. The former thinness of my nose is gone, replaced by a WIDE TRIANGLE on my face. Can I breathe better - yes, but there's still the EXPECTED crustiness of the scabbing, which is temporary. I was able to get a message to the doc about this SWELLING and was told I could use "cold compresses" - would have been APPROPRIATE TO WARN OF SWELLING and be informed to apply ice 4 days ago! Will the swelling go down, I asked. The answer: "It should." SHOULD is NOT what I wanted to hear. Your nose is a genetic feature. I now no longer see my deceased father's face in my nose. Hopefully, this massive swelling is temporary. If not, there had better be a way to reverse this mess.
