Anyone with PMR have experience with 4th COVID vax jab?
I just got notification from UTSW that I was eligible to receive my 4th Pfizer vaccine. I was wondering if anyone has does that yet? I have an appointment with my rheumatoligist next week, so I will ask her. But I was just wondering about anyone's experience with this.

Welcome @suetex, I've had 2 occurrences of PMR prior to COVID vaccines but the PMR is currently in remission. I have had both Pfizer shots and the first booster and I got COVID. I had the monoclonal antibody infusion as a treatment and I probably will not get the 2nd COVID booster. I also only had the expected side effects from the vaccines.
There is another discussion where you can read through and learn what others haved shared about their experience using LDN --- Anyone with experience using Low Dose Naltrexone?: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-with-experience-using-low-dose-naltrexone/
Are you still being treated for your PMR and looking to see if low dose naltrexone will help?

1 ReactionI was with another rheumy who didn't diagnose me after 4 yrs and talked the PA into giving me the LDN for the pain. (Also thought it might help the Crohn's, which it did). In 2 days the non moving pain was gone. Finally went to another rheumy who diagnosed me in 15 minutes. (I had brought my labs and told him my symptoms.) I was reponding very well to the pred until 8 mg when I started having some slight symptoms and went to 4 mgs and now it is full blown. I go in tomorrow to give him the bad news. Will cling to the LDN regardless because it did help my Crohn's so much. My last colonoscopy was normal!

3 ReactionsIt's very coincidental that my PMR started the time I took the first and second Moderna COVID-19 injections...I have since rec'd the first booster last Sept and got the second booster this week...experiencing a slightly sore arm and maybe a slight increase in "back ground pain & stiffness" in the late evening and during sleep...but that happens often. So in summary I'd submit no real change in symptoms since the 2nd booster (knock on wood)....

1 ReactionMy PMR came after my 1st Moderna booster in November. So I am not getting a 2nd booster at this time.
I got my second booster this week. I'm currently taking 17.5mg of prednisone. I had no effects from the shot. Previous shots made me very tired for one day. I attribute the fact that prednisone suppresses the immune system as the reason for my lack of response. Just my opinion. Soon I will be getting my second shingles shot.
Yes I’ve seen it myself on their - very long - list of conditions triggered by their vax.

3 ReactionsMine also started exactly 7 days after my J and J vaccine. What do we do about it? There are lawyers willing to do class action suits.
Has anyone reported it to the VAERS Site?
