Buttock/tailbone pain, sitting or lying down - symptom of PMR?
Has anyone experienced buttock/tailbone pain when seated or lying down as a symptom of PMR? Also, has anyone had labs showing elevated LDL-Cholesteral or anemia that wasn't diagnosed prior to PMR onset?

Hip pain is a part of PMR and your esr and crp do not have to be elevated to be experiencing PMR. Mine have never been too high but have been diagnosed.
Hey @cgent!, Thanks for the private message. I thought I would respond in the discussion I think you were trying to find -- Buttock/tailbone pain, sitting or lying down - symptom of PMR?: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/curious-about-this/.
Under the Sore butt 😂 indeed category, I'm with you which is why I love the reminder to stand once an hour on my Apple iWatch. Hope you don't mind but I will repeat your question so that others can chime in with their experience.
"Recently, although I've had no problems with PMR, my butt seems to be overly sensitive (not funny !!!) Whenever I drive the car or sit and watch TV for any length of time my butt really hurts ... the backs of my thighs and fanny hurt as if I've been sitting for many hours instead of a few minutes. I was just out mowing ... AGAIN ... and noticed that my type of mower, a small zero turn type ... bounces pretty wickedly when mowing at the faster speeds we tend to run these machines at. Again, my mower is smaller and lighter so it tends to bounce more. Could all this hard bouncing be bruising my fanny so that when I sit for a while it bothers me a lot ??? Do others who experience sore fanny's mow with small "bouncy" mowers ???"
Funny you mentioned zero turn mowers. I have a Ariens 42" zero turn and my yard is pretty rough to mow. Mostly I'm mowing 3/4 acre of prairie grass with lots of mole and gopher holes so the ride is pretty rough and hard on my postier if I go too fast. I mean who wants to take all day to mow the yard when there are other things to do. I have seriously thought about buying one of those special Purple seat cushions that I can move to wherever I sit - kind of spendy but if they help I would get one - https://purple.com/seat-cushions/portable. And my PMR is still in remission although I have been having a little more aches in the shoulders.
Anyone else have pain in the rear that may be associated with PMR, bouncy mowers or just plain sitting too long?
Betcha something like this would work just as well for a whole lot less $$$ ... https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Grip-Comfortable-Cushioned-Gardening/dp/B07L6QQD8R/ref=asc_df_B07L6QQD8R/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309769305053&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18269348179168272690&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1017047&hvtargid=pla-671540488301&psc=1
... and the idea here is to protect your posterior from abuse from the bouncing mower so you don't ache later when sitting on the couch or in the car ...
Here's a really low price, maybe get TWO ... 😁 ... https://www.harborfreight.com/foam-kneeling-pad-56572.html
I sit for work 5 hours in the morning and the tailbone gets to me after about an hour. I have to keep shifting my posture. Shoulder aches, trap muscle aches have come back with weaning. Neurologist suggests bumping the Prednisone up a notch. I think I will work with 13.75 for awhile to see if it levels off. Just an observation...not a complaint. Unsure if the tailbone is PMR related or just sitting to long. All the best in your journey.
Yes. Got stiffer the more I sat and during the night. I take 1/2 iron pill every 3rd day. I have had to take iron for years because of restless legs.
I have had tail bone issues ever since I took a tumble on ice several years ago - pre-PMR for sure. They make all types of tail bone pillows. No need to make do with some design not meant for tail bone relief - go to Amazon and enter "tail bone pillow" in the search field - or even just goggle it and you will find plenty of choices.
I have used this type design for years - works great for me -

i first experienced these symptoms of pmr but the diagnosis was missed[no ones fault]
Update on tailbone pain. Referred to a Spine dr. MRI of pelvic bones showed no abnormality. Referred for pelvic floor therapy. I've been seeing an osteopath for osteopathic manipulation treatment. He worked on the tailbone and the pain went away after the first treatment. Tight muscles seemed to be an issue. I feel brand new after two years of suffering without a diagnosis or correct treatment.
Sorry to hear that, I was having same problems and PCP said nothing was wrong. I insisted that he was wrong and I told him I was going to get further test to prove he was wrong. He got angry with me, and I with him, but I have an appointment with him tomorrow where we will apologize I hope, and move on from here.
Sure enough my investigation led me to find out I have a very rare Nutcrackers Syndrome, A diagnosis he believed was Very unlikely, since I was menopausal, this I have to see a specialist vascular surgeon for, and I also have a very rare Ischiofemoral hip impingement syndrome in both right and left hips. I’ve had 4 injections for pain with minimal results, they are a hit and miss it seems, I’ve only got relief on tear to my labrum and my hamstring partial tear. Nerve pain worse than before injections, I am atrophied from waist down because of this and bedridden most days now,. Get a second opinion to rule out Pelvic Congested Syndrome, Men and Women can get this condition. I’m ordering my hospital supplies today for an air bed and raised toilet adapter, bedside commode, and even a bed pan. This is crippling me,
