Have you been able to get Evusheld? Or find where it is offered?

@mjq Out here in Oregon, I was able to get Evusheld at my cancer center. I am a multiple myeloma patient. Keep calling around!

In addition to Ginger, @cehunt57 @raphyboi @jennifer0726 have either received Evusheld or are looking into it and may be able to offer further advice.

@mjq I was able to receive Evusheld late February locally. I had checked with my kidney transplant team at Mayo and they recommended I get it in my state. At Mayo Rochester they were doing sort of a lottery for doses for eligible Minnesota residents as it is distributed by state. They did not have enough supply at that time. However, in my local city I was approved very quickly after referral by my PCP. I would try to get a referral to a smaller city within your state that has doses. Only two hospitals in my city had them. There is a website for Evusheld for more information.

I had two shots of Evusheld on Feb.17. After a few weeks I got a call that I needed two more as further research had shown it to be 300 instead of 150. No side effects. Seems to me to be a no brainer if you can't tolerate the Vaccines. Protection is around 80+%.

@cehunt57 chiming in here. I am post transplant (pancreas) and have immune suppression to protect the transplant from rejection. I received an email in late February that I had been chosen to receive Evusheld. I had an appointment with my endocrinologist around that time and asked about Evusheld. My endocrinologist did not know anything about it. In March I got a 4th COVID vaccine dose. In April I had a nephrology appointment and asked my nephrologist about Evusheld. My nephrologist said it would be an extra layer of protection for me and recommended that I get it. I followed a link on the initial email I received and was able to schedule an appointment for Evusheld. I got it on 4/13. It was given locally (Twin Cities metro area of MN) at the cancer center affiliated with my health care system. There were 2 medications given by injection (1 in each buttock). I don’t recall having to get a prescription or Dr.’s order. I did not experience any side effects other than very slight “pains in the butt”, literally.

I was able to get a script from my specialist yesterday after months of badgering and sending information about how and where to find it but the provider isn’t offering Evusheld to my age group yet. They said if you can find it we’ll send the script electronically. I had been watching the following the locator site below very closely and it turned out to be extremely accurate. Use the state and county filters to narrow it down. After getting a script I was able to locate a dose and get an appointment at an independent pharmacy 2 business days later. The whole thing took less than 20 mins. The therapy is definitely out there and ready to go. Be persistent!

There’s also a map but various news outlets have reported (in March) that the two tools (this map and database linked above) don’t draw from the same data source and are therefore may be missing providers the other shows. I didn’t test it but worth trying both of you aren’t finding what you need.

I am in South Florida and got mine here. Doctor Should know where to get it. Or you can check online. If your rheumatologist does not know where to get it then he is not worth very much. It is very available. You should get the shots. My antibodies from the vaccine were 0.

This has been the most helpful information I have had so far. Mayo Health in the community where I live is under the direction of Mayo Rochester. Mayo Rochester is giving Evusheld via a prioritized criteria and I do not know where I stand. Thanks again.
