My stomach makes me look pregnant.

Posted by Seeking answers @bosnianbeauty, Jan 10, 2012

I have been having problems with my stomach for quite a while now.

My stomach is always round and bloated ,as if i am pregnant.
I have pain most days and have severe cramps and vaginal muscle cramps/contractions during my period. I also bleed a lot.

I eat healthy, take multivitamins and drink water and no sodas or fruit drinks just fruits and veggies. I know most people have flatter stomachs even those who don't eat as well as me.

I have done research and have come to some conclusions that could fit. I think i might have a uterine fibroid or cyst, something that is making my stomach big.
I also have ugly stretchmarks even though i have never been pregnant and am not pregnant, but at times it looks like it.
If anyone has anything similar or knows anything,i would really appreciate the feedback.

Hi, I am still a teenager. But I have a huge problem, my stomach is so big and hard (people think Im pregnant because im too skinny) my last menstrual period as far as i can remember is July 2016. But im pretty sure im not pregnant. Tried pregnancy test so many times but it is negative. I cant book an appointment with OB. Another symptoms > decreased appetite, increased sleeping schedule, always tired, headache.

Hello @foreverhaefish. It sounds as if you are frightened by these problems and that is understandable. You definitely need to see a doctor regarding these symptoms. If you can't see an OB what about your family doctor? Talk with your parents or another trusted adult about your health problems so that you get some medical attention. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. At Mayo Connect we care.

Hi @foreverhaefish. Certainly normal to be concerned and we are glad you reached out. I see you feel like you can not schedule an OB appointment but please know that your life is far more valuable and I am sure your parents would appreciate your trust. Can I ask if you have noticed an increase sensitivy in your breast and or nipples? Is your abdomen larger up high or lower? If high could be splenomegaly. Do you have any pain? Just keep in mind we are not doctors. We speak from experience, love and concern.

Be strong
Dawn

I have a daughter not much older than you. I guarantee you that your mom wants to know what you just told us. Your mom and dad know how to find doctors and they know about insurance and stuff like that. I just made my daughter an appointment with a dermatologist because she still has acne after years. She drove herself there and paid her copayment. But she still needs help with finding doctors and insurance. Are you talking to your mom and dad about these issues? I think you should. They love you and know how to find resources. We get that just from living longer.

Hi- Glad you reached out for help and information. You definitely need to see a doctor. I don't know if there is a reason you can't talk to your Mom or Dad. But I would start there if possible. Do you deliberately not eat or drink to stay thin? Anorexia Nervosa or even thin people with poor diets can skip their periods. But that doesn't explain your large stomach. Other than you saying you are constipated- that would make you bloated. You said the pregnancy tests were negative and the other symptoms you explain don't sound like you are pregnant. I would try to reach out to your parents if possible. If that is not possible, perhaps a good friend,(or their Mom), local walk-in treatment center can advise you or refer you. Don't ignore your symptoms! Please keep us posted! Take care!

On the first three months of my missed period, I thought I was pregnant cause I've expereinced all the first trimester signs. But I didn't bother to have an appointment with OB because of my busy schedule on college. And on my 5th month of missed period, my boyfriend noticed that my stomach is getting bigger! So I tried pregnancy test once again, and it has two lines but the other one is not that so visible.

And for your question, yes I weighed 165lbs a year ago and I wanted to lose weight so I skipped my meal most of the time that I didn't noticed my body is not healthy anymore. Now, I tried to eat as much as I can but my appetite is so poor. That's why I am shocked why my stomach is getting bigger even if i dont eat or drink anything. Thank you for your concern! I can't reach out my mom and dad because they wont even bother to set up an appointmenr for me. Everytime I asked them help for my health issues, they always say "it will be gone soon" even there are times I am almost dying because of my fever.

PS: I also forgot to mention that I urinate every after 30 mins.

I don't have any pain, I am just always constipated. Yes, the sensitivity of my nipples increased. And my abdomen larger up lower. 🙁

@foreverhaefish Hi again. If you are in college, perhaps there is a college clinic or nurse that you can speak with. Also, there are usually community clinics that will take you for a reduced rate. Please keep in touch with us.

Hi @foreverhaefish.
I agree with everyone who has responded to your message so far. These are symptoms that need to be seen by a medical professional. Starting with a college clinic or nurse would be wise as Teresa mentions.

You'll notice that I moved your message to a discussion that was started on Connect a while back. Both @Steph38 and @bosnianbeauty describe very similar symptoms to yours. You may wish to read back through the messages. Steph or BosnianBeauty did you ever find answers to your enlarged stomach issues?

Have you returned to a healthy diet?

2 lines mean you are pregnant and either early in pregnancy or not healthy enough hcg levels or it's evaporation but you will need blood test to get a more accurate answer. With your symptoms and 2 lines you need to see me. If you have a local Health department , they usually have programs to help. PLEASE SEE MD ASAP.
