Did I stop growing?
I’m 14 years old and have been 5’6 for about a few months now and I’m not sure if I should be worried or not. I hit my first growth spurt back in 4th grade when I was 4’9 and grew, by the time I was in 6th grade I was 5’1 . Then 7th grade came and I grew 5 more inches. By the time the pandemic started I was 5’6. I started 8th grade and finished 8th grade (currently about to go to 9th) and still haven’t grown a single inch. The doctor says I have a lot of testosterone and should be exercising more so I did but no signs of growth yet. Is there a certain exercise or medication or any remedies I can take to increase my height or maximize it?

Everyone grows at different rates … doctors have average charts and that is what you find on the internet.
I am shrunk at age 70 to 5’5 from my highest height at age 14 of 5’ 6 1/4”. My dad was about 5’11 and mom 5’8. My grandparents on dad's side were his dad about 6’ and mom about 5‘4 and on mom's side dad about 6’ and mom about 5'5. My 3 brothers range from 5’10 to 6’ and my sis 5'9. So I was the shortest child. My son reached 6' by time he was 12 and started growing in his late teens and into early 20s and topped out a bit over 6’4. .. my sister's son did the same and my youngest brother's son was about 5’10. .. his dad about the same and his mom about 5`5. My daughter was about 5'5 by age 12 and grew no more until her late teens and early 20s .. but only an inch. I have 9 nieces and most are about my daughter's height, but a couple reached about 5’7. I did not live near my nieces to know when their growth spurts were.
Growth .. if you are concerned about it talk with your doctor. As you can tell from my family .. you may grow more later in your teens and early 20s. I can't figure out where that extra tall gene comes from in my family tree for my son and my nephew. My son was all the time bumping his head on something as a late teen and had to have stitches on his head a couple of times. He had to have stitches one time in his 40s… hard being a giant sometimes.
All the best wished for you in your life.

I'm a 16 year old female and last of 2021 I was 5'2 and when visiting my mother's country, Colombia, I grew and my whole family noticed I grew but when I came back I was still 5'2 and a year later I've stopped growing.
I'd also like to mention that even though my visit for a physical exam said I was 5'2; my mother is 5'2 yet I'm taller than her. And I have a friend who is 5'2 yet I'm taller than her.
Hi @yofy Welcome to the 5’2” club! I’m a member myself along with my daughter and several other family members. Genetics play a huge role in our body structure and girls tend to reach their adult height at around the ages of 14-16.
When comparing your height with others who are also 5’2” and you feel taller, I’m wondering if it has anything to do with shoes you’re wearing or your facial construction. My mom always felt I was taller than she was and yet we measured the same height. If we compared ourselves with pencil marks on the door frame we were exactly even. But our eyes didn’t line up if we were looking directly at each other. My mom’s eyes were about an inch lower than mine and she had longer forehead. So she always thought I was taller even though we were the same and I admit, I always thought that way too because I was looking down an inch when making eye contact. Try that with your mom and friend to see if that’s the case.
Thank you, but could I also know why when visiting my mother's country, Colombia, I grew but when I came back nothing changed and I was still the same height?

Children .. some up until young adults .. have growth spurts. Some actually have pain during these spurts.
Your genes that you inherit from your parents and long line of ancestors play a part on how tall you may grow.
If you have concerns talk with your parents and your doctor.

Hello everyone, I am turning 16(male) tommorow and I feel like I've stopped growing at 5'6. My dad is 5'5 and mom is 5'3, but my oldest brother and second oldest brothers are near 5'9 and the same goes for most of my male cousins. My grandpa was 5'2 and grandma were 5'0 on my dads side, and my grandpa was 5'5 and grandma were 5'1 on my moms side (I am of south asian descent) is there a chance I will also be able to grow to 5'9?
