Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

A cilantro extract (herb pharm sold at Whole Foods, amazon, etc.) has completely cleared by Grover's. I take one full dropper a day. My trunk and chest were covered in red bumps a month ago, and it has all cleared up (after 10 years of dealing with Grover's). Not sure these results are translatable to everyone, but I hope so. Was just at my dermatologist and he was amazed given the general lack of a cure (topical steroids hadn't worked for me).

One full dropper a day is a HUGE dose of that stuff! Sometimes that can lead to nasty detox reactions, but If it worked for you, fantastic!

I was diagnosed with Grover's about 30 years ago after moving to Hawaii. Topical steroids have never really worked that well. When it gets really bad I have to take Prednisone. However, my derm recently prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin. Gone after only a couple days! Holy Crap! And, it's having a hard time coming back. So, I rub a little triamcinolone which takes care of it. Keeping fingers crossed. Might even try sun bathing. That always has aggravated it but maybe not now after the antibiotics.

That is fantastic! Thanks for the info. When you say your Grover's went away after only a couple days, do you mean that the red spots stopped itching, or did they actually go away? Sun bathing might be pushing your luck, but good luck if you give it a shot. Please keep us updated on how this situation goes for you moving forward. Congrats!

The itching has stopped. The red spots are almost all gone. A couple of crusty ones here and there. Been out in the Hawaiian sun twice with no ill effects using 30spf. Still haven't used any more antibiotics.

If I see any change I spread a little triamcinolone on just for good measure. I've also almost totally eliminated processed foods.
