Hi, my hubby and I will be coming to Mayo Clinic in Rochester sometmeson I have not gotten my apt dates yet. We are hoping to find lodging within walking distance but out of the elements if possible. Any suggestions? I am in a wheelchair and hubby has to push me. We are also on a pretty limited budget. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

@pooky007, thanks for the location information. I moved your question to this existing discussion about accommodations within walking distance.

I have found the Kahler Grand and Kahler Inn to be both close and reasonable. My personal preference is the Kahler Grand, but I know others prefer the Inn. @lmindela from the Concierge Services will be able to provide other options within a budget. Oh thank you ever so much!!
What are the opinions of Hotel Indigo for a 5 day stay? Thank you
Hi @bohensky I haven’t stayed at Hotel Indigo but I’ve seen the hotel and location. It’s connected to the skyline system so you wouldn’t be exposed the elements when walking over to Mayo, which is just a short couple of blocks away.
The hotel is newer, part of the Hilton family of hotels, and looks very nice. It’s conveniently located to the Clinic, restaurants and other business in downtown Rochester. So that makes it a good choice.
My only thoughts with being there a week, would you miss not having a small kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator? I see a coffee maker but nothing else in the room. If that’s not a concern then this looks like a great option.
Are you all set with your patient portal for Mayo? Any other questions you might have for your upcoming stay in Rochester?
I am set up on the patient portal. I didn't realize there wasn't a mini kitchen. I will check. Thank you!
I kept looking through the photos and amenities. Nothing was mentioned but a coffee machine. Otherwise it looks really nice and clean.
But for staying a week it really helps to find hotels with a little kitchen. Quite a few of the hotels near the clinic are set up for long term stays and provide a nice kitchen. That’s really convenient.
Let me know what you find out.
Thank you. It's overwhelming with so many choices.
