Leaky gut?

Posted by nanceedee @nanceedeefeperi, Jan 26, 2018

Hello, I’m hoping to connect with others who may be able to Help with some answers with what I’m dealing with. I have fibromyalgia and am gluten intolerant. I also have eczema that has spread over different parts of my body. My dr prescribed a steroid to help with the eczema, however I am extremely itchy with a rash on arms
Legs torso. Dr thinks it’s all related but I’m not sure
I have had bouts with heart burn s d constipation/diarrhea. I’ve been reading up about leaky gut syndrome and think I have many of
The symptoms. Any tips as to how I can go about this would be appreciated. I’m in the ER now because of severe fatigue feeling faint s d shallow breathing.

"Leaky gut" seems to be fairly tropical at the moment. I wonder if the attention is warranted.

No I haven't. In the stage of going through numerous tests to rule out things at the VA. Doing my own preliminary research.

@eslavik1 Good for you! I think it is so important to be on top of your medical health as much as possible. Physicians are people just like everyone else and though I have the utmost respect for their profession, they can't always be the experts in everything. Being your own advocate is always the best backup when it comes to your health and body. I like to say, "I am the one that knows me best!"

Is there any research on the role of leaky gut and rheumatoid arthritis? Or any research on how to actually heal a leaky gut? I know there’s a lot written about the autoimmune protocol diet. Is there a definitive AIP, s there seem to be several variations out there?
