Long covid NMN cocktail, what dose?

Posted by greg1234 @greg1234, Feb 6, 2022

Greetings, has anyone tried the long covid NMN cocktail? I saw it on an NIH posting, it is based on nicotinamide mononucleotide, The interest is that as a precursor to NAD+ it can help modulate the immune system response, which might help reduce long covid symptoms.. I have been trying a low dose version for two months, it might have helped a little. If you have tried this, how much NMN/day are you taking? Thanks! Greg

Me, too. I have never heard of it. Do your symptoms include shortness of breath?

Here is a link to a paper about it: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3581388

Editor's Note:
This treatment is not yet approved.
Please note that the case study has not been peer-reviewed. It is being tested as a potential treatment for older persons with SARS-CoV-2 infections. It has not been studied for use for long COVID symptoms. Larger and properly designed studies are required before researchers can confirm the treatment's potential.

I started recently and so far experimented with dosages of 0.5-1 gr daily, sublingual. With best effects of 1g

I have been doing NAD
I didn’t think it was helpful so stopped
But recently started again
Because of how exhausted I am
A nurse also recommended
NMN
I’ve started this and do seem to have more energy
And when the NAD is wearing off
I have noticed my memory gets worse
So I will be continuing
Until I go broke I guess !!

My way of looking at life is not to introduce something that has not got proven results for what we have ie-- recovering covid -19. I would suggest following the advice of my MD who is a specialist in communicabe diseases. For covid recovey he recommends vitamin bs and the MNM foods you can eat are broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, avocado and edamame. I am in the covid recovery stage 3--exhaustion and have my fridge stocked and believe I feel better. No need to over eat these foods --have a cup of these foods a day.--at least. cucumbers and avocado raw and the others cooked by cleaning the produce and pouring boiling water over it [like broccoli] and letting it stay in pot 5 minutes then eat. Vitamin Bs --take one a day or every 2 days depending on what you MD advises.

Any update on how you’re doing? Do you think the NMN helped you?

There is a scientific article that indicates use of gamma globulin infusions into Long COVID patients can help. It is not FDA approved yet, but the science is being done on this possibility. It is very expensive and not all insurance companies will pay for it. I am in the beginning phases of getting it approved and will start this treatment if possible. I will keep this site updated on any improvement. I have had LHC for 3 years and can barely walk due to severe balance problems. My life has been changed a lot as a result.
