Has anyone tried the HF10 Spinal Cord Stimulation Device?
Has anyone tried a device called HF10 ? It’s a device which stimulates your spinal cord to help relieve back and leg pain. After a trial period of about a week, if the patient is achieving good results the device is implanted in the person. My pain management doctor has recommended it to me for arm and hand nerve pain. I would like to hear from anyone who has used this device and especially from anyone who has used it for arm and hand pain. Thank you.

When mine was implanted, the surgeon woke me up so I could confirm the electrodes were in the best position for maximum pain relief. Once we agreed on this location, they narcotized me again, to finish the surgery.
I have not needed a pain pill after I was healed out from the surgery
I am discussing the possibility or using a spinal stimulator w/ a neurosurgeon. Curious what experiences others have had using this device.
I’ve had two Medtronic stimulators. I have neuropathy, since 2004. The pain is in both legs, up to mid thigh.
They have helped sooo much for my neuropathy. The battery died after three yrs in my first. My back surgeon told me that the electrodes were fine, but the stimulator itself was too close to my spine. He moved it. After two weeks, I had an infection so bad I had to have a pic line put in. Very bad experience.
Since the pandemic, I haven’t had a new one put in. I don’t really want to go through it a third time, but it did help so much.
Thank you. There are always possible complications. Hope maybe you give it another try, if it helps.
What type of SCS did you have implanted? Was it installed by a spine surgeon or a neurologist or some other type of physician? Thanks
I have the Medtronic spinal nerve stimulator installed. Mine was done by a pain specialist
I have a Medtronics stimulator and pain pump implanted by my pain doctor!
I am contemplating having a spinal stimulator installed by a neurosurgeon.
What type are you considering, Medtronic, DRG, Nevro, Stimwave? There are about 4 or 5 major companies that manufacture them. Some need daily recharging and some are not MRI compatible. What type has your neurosurgeon suggested? Good luck.
I've had a Nevro SCS for about a year and a half. which has been inconsistently helpful. Nevro did a trial on me to see if would work; this is a really good idea! The trial was great, but now not so much. Nevro has MANY different programs for the HF10, and this is my problem. I need more help from Nevro to find the program that works for me at any given time. The point I want to make is that we need ongoing support from Nevro.
