Does anyone know how many cases of iron depletion related to the covid vaccine has been reported to VAERS? I was hospitalized because of this and would like to know all the statistics. Obviously, with the submissions here, more research will have to be done on this side effect since it is serious and can cause hospitalizations! I am on a fixed income, as are many, and the unforeseen hospital bills can be devastating.

This is what I found when I was looking. I thought about adding mine to it but was unsure.

I got COVID 19 March of 2019 and again January;2022. In between that time I got the Moderna vaccine ; both shots but no booster. Now my hemoglobin, hematocrit and iron are low. I was diagnosed with Anemia. Is there a correlation between COVID and developing anemia.

I thought I read somewhere on this Mayo Clinic site that around 21,000 cases had been reported regarding iron depletion caused by the vaccine, but that was quite a while ago and I was wondering if anyone had a new total. I'm not sure how you would go about finding it. I know I reported my adverse reaction.

Yes. My husband has never had any history of anemia or low iron. He received the Pfizer vaccine in March. He began feeling more tired over the next two months. He saw his physician and she suspected some type of internal bleeding based on the blood test, He had an upper and lower endoscopy. No internal bleeding was found. They are going to try the camera endoscopy next week. We don't think this is going to reveal anything. His iron, ferritin and red blood cell count is extremely low. The only change in has been receiving the vaccine.

I had the same experience, only I was hospitalized and received two blood transfusions as well as two iron infusions later. I had camera endoscopies and a colonoscopy that yielded no internal bleeding or other problems. I had every test imaginable, and everyone just threw up their hands about the cause. I just had another blood test, and my iron level is starting down again. It is very lonely out there because no one believes me, and I am excluded from certain activities because I have refused the booster shot. I should add that I have no history of anemia and am past menopause. I received the Moderna vaccine.

I got two doses of the Moderna vaccine, the last one in April. I have no history of iron deficiency or anemia. On June 2, I was admitted to the hospital with extremely low iron and anemia. I was given two pints of blood over two days. I was not aware of losing blood. I was given two endoscopies and a colonoscopy--all three were normal. None of my health care practitioners could figure out why I was suddenly experiencing these problems. I had two iron infusions after hospitalization. I have since had a blood test to determine if my iron anemia problem was solved, and it appears so. Initially, I didn't link the problem with the vaccines, but I now suspect there may be a correlation.
