Oh dear, losing hair is never a pleasant thing to have happen! How long has this been going on?
I’m not familiar with using clove oil for hair growth. Hopefully other members might chime in on the conversation to talk about their experiences.
But if you do use it internally, be aware that too much clove oil can have some serious and unpleasant side effects as well as interfering with medications. I found a good article for you that delves into clove oil a little further.

What pops into my mind first is, why is this happening? What’s going on in your life that may have brought about the hair loss?
Have there been any changes in your life recently such as stress, different medications, illness? Any hormonal changes due to menopause or using birth control? Chemotherapy? Thyroid problems? As you can see here are so many factors that can affect our hair.

There are a number of links you might find of interest discussing hair loss and some solutions.

I am including one of Mayo's Q and A on treating hair loss:
https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-q-and-a-treating-hair-loss/
Healthline – Biotin for Hair Growth: Does It Work? https://www.healthline.com/health/biotin-hair-growth
NIH – Biotin https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/313.html

We’ve had members having some success with using Biotin which is a natural Vitamin B supplement. There are other products on the market which help promote hair growth as well as slowing down the loss. Rogaine is an over the counter product at drug stores. I’ve used a shampoo and conditioner called Nioxin which really helped stop the loss.

But most importantly, if this persists, it might be in your best interest to see your primary care physician to make sure there is no underlying physical reason such as low thyroid level. Have you seen a doctor about this?

I saw a dermatologist for my hair loss 3 years ago ( possibly due to aging, stress from a long surgery), she recommended Rogaine 5% for Women. I apply it once daily. My hair loss has significantly slowed way down, I’ve regrown hair in most of the bald spot area, and there have been no side effects that I can see or feel. The dermatologist checks my scalp when I’m in for my yearly skin check. So far, so good.

I am a hairdresser who has recently started battling COPD which has been stressful causing hair loss . I am a male but it effects all genders . I can tell you COPD has limited my shampooing to once a week and this causes me to think I am losing more than normal because on a normal week I shampooed once a day which allowed me not to notice a huge amount at once . Have you changed the amount of time you shampoo ? We naturally shed a certain amount daily . Blessings

Hello Gregoryz, I was a hairdresser for about 30 years. With that said, I am very sorry about your hair loss, but I am wondering if you have been tested for a very rare disease called Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis, PAP for short. and Thesaurosis Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis, aka Hairdresser Lung. My symptoms were shortness of breath, low o2, and coughing a lot. I am sure these diseases are running ramped in our industry, I have a low thyroid so my hair does fall out on occasion. I had a lung biopsy at the Mayo in Arizona where they found polymers of hairspray in bedded in my lung . I can go on and on sorry .
I wish you all the best,
Sincerely,
Teammayo1

Well Thank you & yes those 30 years have no doubt done damage especially those 1980's lol- I have had no Aveolar PAP testing no . I am thrilled to find this information out here in my own rabbit hole . I do recall having shortness of breath in the late 80's and grabbing the over counter mist . It became very prominent in 2016 that I was in serious trouble having my very first attack but it was not until this past year 21 that I landed in ER twice . I will definitely look into this amazing information . Big Thanks & Blessings to you . Greg

I color my hair about once a month ... I found that some brands made scary amounts of my hair fall out. I found a few brands that don't make my hair fall out so I use those. I don't know which ingredient caused the hair loss. Peggy

Good Morning Greg, If you need help finding information about Pap there is a Pap foundation website that will give you more information. My Doctors are at the Mayo in Arizona, Dr. Swanson and Dr. Cartin-Ceba. they are wonderful and will help you find the right answers. Good luck and never give up, when I started feeling worse in 2015 I was told by a pulmonary doctor in Las Vegas where I live to "Drink Ice Water" that was the diagnoses EEEK ... Lol Good Luck and don't give up looking for answers. Your friend, Teammayo1

@neomipaul, @loribmt, and all...Hello, all. I'm starting over now after mistakenly deleting my finished message, taking a deep breath a starting over!
I began losing my hair many years ago and was horrified. I'm now glad to say I have a full head of hair. After the dermatologist diagnosed me with alopecia and said unless I want to use Rogaine every morning for the rest of my life I need to get used to it and consider wigs. I did...

For several years I used Rogain daily and gradually my hair began to re-grow. It worked. Although, a bother, it worked and I didn't have to begin wearing wigs. During that time, I also changed the color I was using on my hair to one with fewer harsh chemicals. I made my hair healthier but didn't stop the loss. I stopped coloring my hair a few years later thinking it could be harmful and contribute to the loss. I became a natural white/silver-haired 70-year-old woman. I loved it. And, I used the 5% Rogaine foam. Fairly easy,

Then, I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, at Mayo, and the doc told me my iron levels were extremely low. He put me on the over-the-counter supplement, Vitron with C. C is required for iron absorption, which is part of my problem. This was a remarkable addition to my supplements...more energy felt so much better, helped reduce the restless leg syndrome, slowly noticed my hair was growing better, less falling out, and the color began changing! As my iron levels rose closer to normal, my hair was getting darker in places. I became, again, a salt- and - pepper-haired woman. What a surprise. Iron made my hair healthier and darker.

Also, I was diagnosed with low thyroid, which surely contributed to hair loss. This shows you the many possible contributors to hair loss, in addition to heredity and others. I can tell you I now have a good head of gray/silver/ black hair now. It's a good thing.

Blessings as you decipher this dilemma. May it go well...elizabeth

My friend uses the 5% Rogaine, but the amount per treatment is so small that she cannot spread it all over her hair. It's limited to a relatively small area. Also, my hairdresser told me that one of her clients had good results, but had to stop because it caused hair growth in places where she didn't want it.

@luftmensh1 and all...Why is she limited where and how much she uses? I put a strip down the center of my head, a strip on the sides and then brush it in and gently rub. I put what I needed and where.

YES! It grows hair! and works...

Be extremely careful to not get it on your face! Unless you want to grow a beard or on your neck unless you want to grow thick hair on your neck, etc!!!!!

It won't grow hair on your hands since we don't have hair on our palms....I suggest wearing disposable gloves and if you get some on your face, wash it off w/ soap and water.

Just be wise, careful and grow more hair on your head! Or, get several wigs.

My friend has female pattern baldness, has lost all her hair all over her head. Nothing works for her. She has several wigs that look great. It's a matter of knowing what you are dealing with and then do it.

Wishing you well. I'm thrilled with the results...elizabeth
