Percussion Vests: Are you using one? Is it working for you?
Anyone willing to guess how many “regulars” on this forum use a vest?

Hi @degree and welcome to the MAC & Bronchiectasis group. You'll meet the whole gang in this main discussion thread:

How long have you been living with MAC?
thumperguy, when I inquired about having a percussion vest, the nurse said it was too expensive. I am confused because I have insurance! Is it difficult to get a vest? This gunk will not loosen and I am losing hope. Thank-you, for any help you can be. Does it really break it up?
Saw your question. My vest has been great for breaking up the congestion, am so glad I got it. It should be covered by insurance with a doctor's order. The DME company you chose (durable medical equipment) will check and let you know the co-payment and cost to you. I don't know why the nurse would say that. I would pursue obtaining an order and go from there and good luck!
Saw your post and concur with others. With a doctors order insurance does cover it less any co-pay, if applicable. I’ve used one for three years and do believe it helps somewhat. All the little things we do to help ourselves add up to improvement with fingers crossed and God’s blessing. Wishing you well.
Thank-you very much! : )
You are most kind! Thanks.: )
I just got a Vest last month and it was covered 100% by insurance. Your doctor will have to order it.
I’ve had recurring back pain since teenage. Occasionally I suspect the percussion vest may exacerbate the situation. Do I have company among Forum participants ? Don
Hi Don - I'll be curious about the replies you get. I resisted the vest because I have always had back issue, and was sure the thumping would make it worse. Now that you have started up ol' Thumper again after a break, how is your back?
Sue
I have been using this great product -- Steraligner Aligner Cleaning Solution -- it comes with a small container and you fill it with the solution and water, then every morning just leave your mouthguard sitting in it until evening. I usually brush it a little, too.
