Just approved: Evusheld for the pre-exposure prevention of COVID-19
Does anyone have any more information on this just-approved by the FDA treatment for immunocompromised people? From what I am reading, it seems very exciting. Boy, what I wouldn’t give for a bit of protection from the scourge virus!

Heart problems can be a side effect of Evusheld. I’m sure that’s why they’re being so careful.
Thank you. I’ve decided not to get it at this time. I’m not comfortable with the risks for myself.
Thanks for that info.
I won't until my tx dox ok it for us.
Terrific. I will try to get the WA DoH site to work. I sure hope you start feeling better soonest.
Done. You are incredibly helpful. I cannot thank you enough. I am a WA state Category 3 for Evusheld. Good to know I’ll be in line to receive it when supplies increase. AthenaLee, do you have Covid? Is that why you’ve taken Monoclonal Antibodies?
Thanks for the info. I think Mayo Phoenix is playing it safe with all transplants. I had a kidney transplant there in 2019 and they haven’t approved Evusheld yet for me. I have no antibodies after 3 Moderna doses. It doesn’t make sense to me that a drug intended for the immunosuppressed would interfere with immunosuppressive drugs. But maybe that’s why they are hesitant. They could be doing more research, or their own testing, before recommending it.
Thanks for your comments. I agree with you regarding Mayo's need or desire to thoroughly research this.
Congrats on your transplant! Stay well.
The three vaccines that are being pushed dont seem to be all that good if you must continue take boosters, This seems good time be researching better vaccines. They seem have one in Texas that might be good look at, Corbevax, thoughts?
Hi, @ajackson1950, I see that this your first post. welcome to the transplant discussion. My personal experience as a transplant recipient is to consult with my transplant team. Since I’m at a distance from my transplant center, I use the patient portal.
What has your transplant team advised?
