Just approved: Evusheld for the pre-exposure prevention of COVID-19
Does anyone have any more information on this just-approved by the FDA treatment for immunocompromised people? From what I am reading, it seems very exciting. Boy, what I wouldn’t give for a bit of protection from the scourge virus!

I have an appointment with my neurologist soon and was going to ask him about Evusheld. He recognized my neuropathy increase after the vaccines as an autoimmune reaction.
I received monoclonal antibodies today for Covid. My left foot became very itchy and developed hives a couple hours after the infusion. And, now both feet are having an increase in tingling and I’m also experiencing numbness on the right side of my face, which is new.
Fabulous athenalee! Congratulations! Wow that’s great news. So far out here in Oregon and Washington, I am getting the run around. Decided to reach out to my Senator to see what she can facilitate. Please let us know how things progress.
Yipes. We’ll just let the Universe know it’s time for that stuff to go away! Thanks for the update.
You might try reaching out to your state health department. I downloaded the form and info on the VT Health Dept Covid Website, under physician alerts. Filled out the form as much as I could for my PCP. Unfortunately, since I have Covid it’s on hold.
Today at our Mayo Phoenix hesrt tx Support Group Meeting online the moderator provided info from the pharmacist regarding Evushield. There is apparently a potential interaction with this and our anti- rejection meds.
Really…that’s not good. Please keep us up to date. Thank you!
If you scroll down on this website, under healthcare providers is a letter authorizing Evusheld under FDA guidance - https://www.oregon.gov/oha/covid19/Pages/Healthcare-Partners.aspx
There’s a link on the Washington Health Department providers website too, but the link is broken.
It is approved - yes. At this point apparently Mayo is playing it safe with heart recipients.
Thanks for this link. I'm not sure of the specific reason for the hesiitancy at Mayo, but I'm sure we'll find out soon.
I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you had your antibodies checked after Covid? My pharmacist told me it’s the people who haven’t had Covid that have a harder time keep their antibodies after being vaccinated. She also said the Evusheld will be given every 6 mos.
