Anyone been dizzy the next day after taking Melatonin?
Has anyone tried melatonin and the next day been dizzy? I do have a balance issue to begin with from DDD of my neck as well as a inner ear problem. I had a bad vertigo in Dec but thank God I've been fine with that.

Have you talked with your doctor about sleep aids that would be compatible with your vertigo?
I read about the dizziness this morning when l woke up with. I have appt with ENT in Jan and will mention it to her. I get my anxiety to go through the roof which doesn't help with how l feel and also my sleeping. Trying to get into meditation. Joined Calm. Because of my DDD in the neck it causes back of head discomfort to the top of my head so my mine wonders to places l shouldn't go and l Google to much. As much as l hate to take them what helps is my xanax. I think of my mom God rest her sole who worked into 70 and I'm 66 and can't do half of what she did.
I use to take a gummy with melatonin, either 1/2 or 1 whole and never experienced any problems. The last time I took 1/2 I woke up and was very dizzy. I just stayed in bed for another hour and eventually the feeling subsided. I figured out it had to be the gummy and have never taken them again!
I feel dizzy some nights and days after taking only 3mg of melatonin before bedtime. I never connected the dizzy feeling to melatonin. Is there consistent evidence linking the dizzyness to melatonin in small doses?
I took Melatonin gummies for kids and they were too expensive but I seemed ok. Then I switched to a melatonin pill but took one and was out in left field the next morning. I read the bottle more closely and if the user was on prednisone, use of melatonin is contraindicated. So I no longer use it. I think at my age of 73 and taking ativan 2-3 times a day, the melatonin is a fall risk and I don't need to spend the day in a fog getting over the effects of the melatonin. Sometimes I think it is too easily recommended without due thought = like the contraindication with steroid medication.
I would recommend getting tested for sleep apnea because your symptoms are mostly compatible with this disorder.
Yes. I take melatonin 10 mg to 15 mg and get dizzy and tired next day. I hope you find your answers.
YES!!
I took a 2mg gummy one night, and when I woke up I was dizzy (off balance—not really vertigo type spinning) until 3pm when it had subsided enough for me to feel okay.
Note: I also have anxiety and take klonopin every morning. So maybe it doesn’t mix well with benzos.
I really need help sleeping lately, but I won’t go near melatonin. I couldn’t find many good articles on it, but searched Amazon reviews of melatonin products that had thousands of reviews. Many said they had dizziness.
Yes
Yes. Melatonin 5-10 mg often leaves me very dizzy and tired. Sometimes with vertigo for an hour or more. I read last week in New York Tines that a prominent medical organization most knowledgeable about melatonin is urging consumers to not use this until significant ongoing testing is completed. I had stopped it a while back due to increasing negative reviews, and dizziness subsided. Due to serious sleep issues and because it has been around forever, I went back on it. Bad decision. I’m sitting here dizzy sick right now but got better enough to read Mayo connect and found your comment. It clearly reminds me it makes some people really dizzy and feeling very badly.
