@welcome1, Did you ask about taking any pain reliever while you wait for the appointment? With a liver condition, we have to be careful of what we take. One tip that I use when calling my doctor, is to ask the lady on the phone to relay my message to the doctor (symptoms and my question) and I ask her to get back to me when she hears from him. It has worked well for me.
I had the pale bowels for most of my time with liver disease, and sometimes ran a low grade fever. It was an elevated fever that got my doctor's attention. Please keep an eye on your temperature for a sudden rise. then I urge you to go to an emergency or urgent care facility.
Pain keeps me from getting comfortable and falling asleep. Pain wakes me up and won't let you go back to sleep. Basically, I am sleep deprived. Middle of the day often so tired I am half asleep or can't keep from falling asleep. Im afraid to drive that I may all of sudden become tired and fall asleep. I have actually slept in my car many times in the parking lot. Not sleeping, so now blood pressure and cholesterol is up. The doctors want to give me pills for that. Really, I just need to sleep. Ive taken Benadryl allergy medicine because it has diphenhydramine, and it has helped with sleep. It gets me about 4 hours of sleep then I wake up. Usually, I can go back to sleep. So yes, the 5-6 hours I get from the Benadryl feels like a life saver. If I take it for 2-3 nights in a row I wake up with a headache. 2 or 3 nights with little to know sleep. Fatigued and exhausted I will sleep most of the 4th night. In the interim days I am dull witted and just plain tired. Next Expect I will have a heart attack from the stress of no sleep. Doctors probably have a pill for that too.
Thanks for the information. I am in lots of pains everyday and don’t know what to do or where to start from as the specialist is not yet ready to give me any medication. I still goes to work with this pain but is always not focus. Should I stop working and stay home and wait until after the treatment? What do you advise?
If you don't go to work, No Income is bad too. Pain Management does not mean no pain Its pills and injections and ideas on how to deal with the pain. Most of the pills are non-narcotic thanks to the dope heads and government legislation, so, the pills and creams don't help much. Pain is a miserable thing and those who don't have it think you should just suck it up and quit whining, I live it chronic pain, quality of life is bad, I can't do my old job anymore, trying to learn something new. Not easy at my age. I am the optimist though. I just want to wish you good luck in your future.

@betterway you said that you have pain that keeps you awake and you haven’t really had a good nights sleep.
Taking something with Benadryl works great for a short time, but then you get a rebound action and it quits working. I found this out the hard way. My doctor totally agreed. So don’t use Benadryl too often. And, please don’t drive when you are sleep-deprived!
Have you talked with your doctor about about the pain and the sleep deprivation it is causing you? Are you currently being treated for the pain? If you don’t mind, maybe you could tell me a little more about you situation.

I was once considered to have AIH when my GI was in the process of diagnosing my liver condition. That was 20 years ago, so I only remember parts of my history. I was prescribed prednisone, and then prednisone with azathioprine (to reduce the prednisone). I also had a liver biopsy and labs that indicated no effect of the medications. At that point, I had more tests that provided a different diagnosis. That is the limit of my AIH history.

I think that you will be interested to refer to the Treatment Section where I found this statement, "Although you may experience remission a few years after starting treatment, the disease often returns if the drug is discontinued.
