@geedle12, I want to jump in here and welcome you to Connect. I am happy to read that your AIH is in remission.
I was once considered to have AIH when my GI was in the process of diagnosing my liver condition. That was 20 years ago, so I only remember parts of my history. I was prescribed prednisone, and then prednisone with azathioprine (to reduce the prednisone). I also had a liver biopsy and labs that indicated no effect of the medications. At that point, I had more tests that provided a different diagnosis. That is the limit of my AIH history.

Here is some information that I want to share about AIH. I think that you will be interested to refer to the Treatment Section where I found this statement, "Although you may experience remission a few years after starting treatment, the disease often returns if the drug is discontinued. Depending on your situation, you may require lifelong treatment."

What is your doctor going to do to monitor your AIH status? Will he be ordering routine labs?
