Hypertension led to Ischemic stoke
hi all I'm 46 when I'm posting this, in 2019 Dec I had an Ischemic stroke and recovered after a month. I'm currently under chronic medication, like a Blood thinner, B12, Anti-Epileptic, and Satin for cholesterol.
My ideal weight is supposed to be 68 Kg, but I'm 84 kg as of now.
I'm planning to be on the Keto diet to shed some weight, any advice please from medical professionals, Refer to my medication below. health-wise I'm perfectly ok so far other than Knee pain sometimes.

Hi @bashyam75, Welcome, I have no medical background or training but I think you have a good plan to shed some weight to help you health-wise. I have hypertension and high blood pressure and am currently taking 25 mg hydrachlorathyazide and 25 mg spironolactone daily for my condition. I was also quite heavy when I was first diagnosed - 300+ lbs 20 years ago. I've always had weight problems as an adult and my weight has bounced between 250 to 280. This past year or so, I started intermittent fasting and set a goal of 220 and easily got there within 3 or 4 months. Then I found some information on low carb health fat diets that has given me the confidence to set a new goal of 200. I'm about 215 now and still working on lowering the amount of carbs which is difficult for me but I'm still working at it. Welcome @bashyam75, I moved your question to the Stroke & Cerebrovascular Diseases group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cerebrovascular-diseases/
Mayo Clinic Connect is an online community where patients can exchange with one another, give and get support and share their experiences. It is not a replacement for consulting with your doctor. Medical professionals do not answer questions in the discussions. It sounds like you would like answers from medical professionals. If you are a Mayo Clinic patient, you can ask your questions to your health care team through the Mayo patient portal called Patient Online Services.
