Neuropathy post-Covid infection: Is there treatment that helps?
Since having Covid in Jan. of 2021, I have had constant numbness and joint stiffness in my feet. Is there a treatment or therapy to help with this? Is there a study researching this kind of problem in Covid long haulers? I had an ultrasound checking the blood circulation in my legs and everything was fine.

I am 76 extremely energetic and healthy and take O medications. Following 2nd shot woke up one morning and had extreme pain in both feet with heels struggled with walking. My physician treated me with steroids and pain free for 1 week and it returned. Is this permanent or will it dissipate?
Hello @erice10, Welcome to Connect. I have not had COVID but I do have small fiber peripheral neuropathy in my feet. Here are a few references to information on studies on the topic of neuropathy in the feet following COVID.

Have you discussed the numbness and joint stiffness in your feet with your doctor or thought about seeking an appointment with a neurologist?
Hello @jewtea, Welcome to Connect. I don't think any of us here on Connect can answer your question on if the condition is permanent or not since we are not doctors and can only share our own personal experiences. You mentioned that the steroids made the pain go away for 1 week. Did the pain come back while you were still on steroids or did you stop taking them and then the pain came back?
John, The pain left during 5 day steroid treatment but returned a week with same level of pain.
Thank you for the information! I have discussed this with my doctor. I have also seen a hematologist, rheumatologist, and vascular surgeon for all of my post-Covid symptoms. I will check into seeing a neurologist.
I also have this from my hips down, the pain is so bad, it hurts if anything touches my skin, and my feet swell terribly. Why are they not doing more to help us with these side effects
I also have had foot problems since Covid vaccines. I am 67 years old with 0 medications. I believe that the vaccine has left us with a toxic overload that lands in the feet due to gravity. Since our lymphatic systems do not have a pump, we need to assist the flow of the lymph system. I have been using my Chi Swing machine for about a week now and the pain seems to be getting better. This is a natural way to assist the lymph systems. Do your research first to see if this is a good fit for you, I would NOT use this if I had any artificial joints. Good luck
thank you so much for the information I just ordered one
