Has anyone tried the HF10 Spinal Cord Stimulation Device?

Posted by patrick17 @patrick17, Nov 21, 2018

Has anyone tried a device called HF10 ? It’s a device which stimulates your spinal cord to help relieve back and leg pain. After a trial period of about a week, if the patient is achieving good results the device is implanted in the person. My pain management doctor has recommended it to me for arm and hand nerve pain. I would like to hear from anyone who has used this device and especially from anyone who has used it for arm and hand pain. Thank you.

Hi Tracer545, did your brother try the Abbott burst neuromodulator? If so, what part of his body was the problem and did he get relief? Thanks

My brother will schedule the 7 day trial hopefully to happen in November. I’ll update when I know more. Was looking to see if anyone has tried

Also if trial works not sure when can get permanent one put in as insurance has to approve then currently in Virginia no surgeries of this type being done due to covid. Has to get psych evaluation first before anything can happen

I am going to have a trial of the Medtronic stimulator because of low back pain radiating to the leg. The process and wait time has been lengthy. How soon after the trial can the implantable stimulator be done?

I had the same problem, and had to wait two months for the final implant, because of the delays caused by Covid. That was no fun to have the pain back.

Thanks for the updates. It is frustrating to have to wait such a long time.

This if for Ray, who has balance problems, as I do, and any others who are interested. This past Monday & Tuesday, I saw both of my "second opinion" MD neurosurgeons, and they both said, independently, that I my L4 and L5 do not need surgery, although they are somewhat abnormal, (but do not need surgery, although they cause my back pain.) HOWEVER, on our common balance problem, each said that I should see my family doctor and a regular neurologist. I am disappointed that surgery would not "cure" me, but also relieved that I don't have to go through surgery.

I’m sorry for your pain and back condition. It must be an awful thing to live with. From what I have read, the Nevro HF10 has been very successful at helping people with back pain. The good thing is that you can do a trial first and the procedure is reversable if there are problems.
There is a doctor I have discovered on YouTube who has made several videos about spinal cord stimulators including the Nevro HF10. His name is Dr. William Porter McRoberts and he is on YouTube under Anodyne Research. His website is internationalhouseofpain.com His videos and information are excellent. Another informative website I’ve found is mayfieldclinic.com
You can also find individuals who have tried spinal cord stimulators and have posted YouTube videos describing their experiences.
I hope this information helps. Good luck!
