review Apple Watch 6 to track Afib

I have asymptomatic AFIB and am considering watch to monitor my AFIB. Looking for feedback on accuracy and if you feel it is worth the price

I have the apple watch 4 and it is excellent for tracking AFIB. The apple watch was recommended by my cardiologist and it tracks your heart rate every minute. The hearwatch app is in partnership with the Heart Foundation. All data can be downloaded for your doctor and you have the ability to do an ECG. For me, this has been extremely helpful when discussing things with my doctor because I have the data to backup what I am saying.

@jmac23, I have the Apple iWatch 6 and like that it has the ECG and the blood oxygen app. I also have a KardiaMobile 6L (six lead EKG). I had the original KardiaMobile that shows similar graph to the Apple watch ECG. Both have given me false AFIB readings. The Apple watch normally shows the sinus rhythm reading but once in awhile it will say AFIB. My KardiaMobile 6L generally shows sinus rhythm with supraventricular ectopy. I shared my previous KardiaMobile EKGs with my primary care doc and she discussed the readings with her team but they didn't have cause for alarm and really didn't say much. I should have asked more questions at the time but really didn't know what to ask. I think they can be helpful coupled with other symptoms a person may have but I'm really not sure.

If nothing else, I think the technology makes us more aware of what may be going on with our body. The very first time I had an AFIB reading on my KardiaMobile one lead device I called my healthcare nurse hotline and they wanted me to go to the ER but I really didn't believe it and was looking for confirmation that it's a false alarm. I really like the watch for a lot of other reasons but mainly use it to keep track of my daily exercise activity and keeping track of standing vs sitting.

I like the idea . I was looking for something wearable, accurate and would provide data to back me up when making suggestions.. I'll check it out at Best Buy. Sounds like it will do the trick

The apple watch has 1 lead so when the ECG indicates AFIB, it may not always be AFIB. When I go to the ER, then have 12 leads so this is much more accurate. However, when my apple watch indicated AFIB, I contacted my cardiologist and sent him the ECG from my apple watch. He confirmed the indeed I was in AFIB.

I started a similar thread here, very interested in the reviews since I have post ablation periodic fluctuations. I have the $9.5K Abbott Labs implant which only reports to my electrophysiologist which I can only access during his office hours, something of a waste but a great cash cow for him? I'm not an Apple person and would have to change everything over to use it.
