Post Covid Stretching
I've been doing the stretches that were recommended in class plus some from the Mayo's pt and my own pt here at home. I never thought I could get so tired from just stretching. I've also been going to pool therapy twice a week now where among other things I ride a noodle and bicycle back and forth for some cardio. I'm interested in what everyone else is doing.

Hi @ldropps and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Great topic to start a discussion!
There is a PDF that I have attached that I found helpful. It provides basic exercises and advice for adults who have been
severely unwell and admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. It provides
information on the following areas:
Managing breathlessness, Exercising, Managing voice issues, eating and drinking, daily living and stress

Do you mind sharing what class it is that you took that recommended stretches?
Thank you for the information. I virtually attended Mayo's Post Covid Syndrome class on the 14th & 15th of September.
I wonder if @tknipp and @becsbuddy have some experience with stretching to add here?
Hello @ldropps Colleen asked if i had anything to add to this discussion, but I’ve never really done any stretches! We will see after i meet with a trainer at the rec center. I’m hopefully going to learn stretches and exercises to help with my bad osteoporosis. Ill let you know!
Ive also thought about pool exercises—do you have an instructor or is it self led?
Hello Becky,
I have physical therapy in the pool with a physical therapist. I've had five sessions. After the sixth I'm going to be working on my own. I'm really glad my doctor at home recommended it. I do walking exercises, stretches and some cardio all in the warm water. I think it's helping. I'm up to 17 minutes of mild cardio which is something I haven't been able to do since I had Covid last November.
@ldropps that sounds like a great way to have PT! I met with a trainer today and everything seemed to be stretches! He also showed me some stretches that i could do while waiting for the dog to check his pee-mail. Let’s stay in touch and compare our stretch routines!
@becsbuddy Here are the stretches that we were given in class. They are the same as what is recommended for chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia folks.

@colleenyoung Thank you. I was able to take screenshots and post those. That's a good idea to limit new accounts.
@ldropps Thank you for the photo information!! I’ll just add them in to what the trainer wanted. Do you find that it helps to GO somewhere and do the exercises?
