Autoimmune Fatigue and/or Chronic Fatigue
Hi Wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with autoimmune fatigue and/or chronic fatigue? I was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic. I wish there was more research into both of these...

Yes you are correct. I do not know why the doctors do not even try to educate their patients. When I present the written report they do not copy it and do not address it to the patient. Perhaps they think that an 84 year old will not live much longer anyway. I do see that it appears to be they are worn out with extra work with the people moving here to Florida and there is a need for more doctors. The waiting rooms are filled to capacity and the health workers seem harried and tired. Perhaps I am wrong but there appears to be an attitude and who am I?. I am dismissed and must leave with no answers and no referrals. I am trying to do this by myself. I do not want to complain but here we are and I am very sorry for all of this.
@peach414144. I cannot believe human beings can experience so much pain. I applaud you posting and fighting. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are not alone.
See how the beautiful people respond? This is encouraging and I am continuing to work with this as much as I can. Thank you.Tomorrow (Monday) when the offices are open I will heat up the telephone wires.
@peach414144. Will you please let us know how it goes tomorrow? I have some dreaded calls tomorrow too but am spurred on by your energy!
I’m sorry that you also get this reception at a doctor’s office.
I think you are correct in that the doctors are overwhelmed. It seems to be easy to dismiss an old person. I’m “elderly “ but my brain is 35.
I often go in with a list- so I don’t forget- and I want answers before I leave. If there is not enough time they can make another appointment for you.
You need to go to Shands. Could there be any volunteer organizations that could offer transport? Or churches or Senior Centers?
Regarding your regular doctors, they need us with Medicare. If necessary, I would talk to Medicare about any doctor who doesn’t have time to discuss serious issues.
Hello @peach414144,
I agree with what others have posted about contacting as many places as you can for help with transportation. For example, do you have a place of worship? At my church, there is a group of people who are available to provide transportation to folks going to medical appointments. I go to one hospital, which is about a 45-minute drive, and I have been able to get help when needed from a driver at my church. This might be an option for you. Also, if you have belonged to any organizations on the city or county level you might find someone who can help you with transportation.
I hope that you are able to find a driver. We all need support, especially as we age.
Will you post again and let me know how this is going for you?
Yep you are right. But just even to get a person to answer or call you back takes much times (not hours but days). It has been all morning and I am still waiting to get in touch. Waiting for call backs. Could take days or more then I will call again. I will continue to perserver. Cant spell anymore. Thanks
Yes John it certainly is appreciated. Thanks to all. Must continue to wait on hold (on the telephone) as I am writing this. Multitasking keeps the mind sharp.
@peach414144 Please don’t feel embarrassed for needing help. Everyone needs help at one time or another. COVID-19 has really tied up our healthcare system. Have you thought of calling the Governor’s office to express your dismay and ask if they know of options? Or your state or national representative? Through no fault of your own, you have some needs that aren’t being met.
Remember, we're all here for you!
It certainly is getting much worse. Six days ago I saw the endochronologist and they still have not requested for the new medicine to be filled. I called last friday and all day today and they do not answer the phone. The say to leave a message which I do and am continuing to wait. I feel quilty complaining as I am sure that all the patients are going through the same process. Patience is a virtue.
